Got a shot with my friend who parks in the same lot as me so you can see the difference between OEM

is the red/white same as the "clear" does anyone have images of the clear if not?

Ahh, so are those plates not embossed or something? They look totally flat.

I'm also pretty damned sure I've seen the pics you're putting up... in either another thread or Google image search. I actually like it without the valenti 4th brake light.

Just flat standard plates, nothing embossed. Yeah, I've posted same pics on the "What did you do to your FR-S today" thread. I liked the stock 4th brake light look, until I added the smoked tails - then it looked out of place, but to each his own. Post a pic when you get yours installed.

I'm sure this will be helpful for some lucky folks, but that did make me wonder, did anyone actually have any issues finding an RS2.0?

Personally, I'd been looking at buying an FR-S for about three months. I saw the ad for it online on a Thursday night... went to my dealership on that Friday morning and picked it up. They had 2!

I ordered mine, tracked it from Japan to the US, flew to Los Angeles and picked it up the day after it arrived at the dealership/after PDI. There was no shortage up here in the SF Bay Area on dealer lots from what I could tell (I picked mine up at Longo as my local dealer was somehow incapable of helping me order one).

at 1000, that's about 20 cars per state. there are 42 registered here and it leaves about 958 unclaimed cars running around out there. just for kicks I'll estimate another 42 people out there have one. that leaves 916, still a lot of cars out there.

FYI math and estimates are off, that's good. I'm good at BS.

The numbers aren't quite that simple... 1000 RS2.0 units in North America, for which 150 were allocated to Canada. That leaves 850 in the US, and breaks down to 17 per state (or 16.67 if TdPR was allocated any out of the mainline TMS allotment) and 15 per province (not counting the territories because that would just be crazy). The rest of your guesstimates I'll go with though.

In Toronto it appeared that all the dealerships got one when I looked around after got interested in them, and Toyota Canada corporately had at least 2 for employees on demo/vehicle programs. There are 146 Scion dealerships in Canada, plus the two with corporate, so that would just leave 2 unaccounted for outside of the 150. Stands to reason a couple dealerships might have gotten more than one, just like some dealerships might not have wanted any.

From the discussion earlier in this thread, the bigger issue seems like it might be hard to find one with a 6MT if that's what you were looking for. Oddly enough though, most of the ones I've seen either in person (4) or on dealer's website inventory were MT not AT (6 of 8).

I can confirm I am the only one in my town that has one, but if I see one I will let you guys know. My dealership required the ordering in of the RS 2.0 to get one.

I've seen ONE on the road in downtown LA (we even spoke briefly), and one more left at my dealership. It's in their overstock area and it looks like it's been sitting there for months... caked with rain water and dirt. It's kind of sad.

I distinctly remember a big dealership near me (South Bay Toyota in CA) had, like, 30 2.0s or something like that in stock according to their website. This was before I picked mine up at my dealership... I tried to find it again but got lazy and gave up.

Also, do you guys think Toyota kept like, #1, #86, and maybe #1000 for themselves? I hear that happens with special edition cars sometimes.

Well the #1 Series 10 has been tossed around on the forums for some time, or was it the Monogram? Can't remember.

Oddly enough I have seen maybe 15 distinctly different FRSs in or around London in the last 2 years. Of those 15, 3 were 2s. That could be due to the close vicinity of the Toyota plant though.

Sounds like a $1000 rebate just hit for the series 2.0 if anyone is looking. Starting to see them around $26k now.
