That's just it, it won't necessarily be readable. I have two different version of my resume, the one done in Word and saved as a PDF, that has things formatted nicely, skills listed in tables that take up less room, etc. I have a second that is pure text, without the formatting. If i took the first one and did what you asked I would then spend at least 30 minutes having to clean it up to make it readable (I know because that's where I got to keeping two copies of it).

To answer your original question, I would review the ones that either did a cut and paste job, or attached the resume to the email. The ones that didn't bother to do either are voted off the island early.

6.5 hours? You only would have had another 2 or 3 hours before the doctor came to see you here. THEN you would be there another 6.5.

Same here, except that instead of pure text I used dashes to separate things out.

At least it's random, which is on topic.

After about 4 pages of resume debate it is not really random any more.

It's a reading test. Can you overcome this basic hurdle? I've been paid to help people with resumes and cover letters. Got them jobs too. The formatting of a resume, as long as it's consistent and readable, doesn't matter..
I'd review them in case there is anyone still worth talking to. I'd also be asking them why they chose to attach vs copy/paste in that initial conversation. Sounds like the job is remote, so reading instructions and following is reasonable as a hurdle.

I'm with the others, my PDF/word version turns into a wall of unreadable text if I copy paste. So I'd have spent the half hour+ formatting it. Of course, I'd have saved that in case any other hiring manager were asking for the same...

Job market is a joke. Looks good on paper. Not so good with experience.
