Golfyankee2121's 2013 Argento FR-S Build Thread
What's up everyone? My name is Jimmy B, I am 23 years old, and this is my 2013 Argento Scion FR-S. I had another build thread on here, but it was getting out of date, and I wanted to create a new one, so here it is! I have had the car since January 1, 2014 and I have loved every minute of ownership. I have always been into cars, and loved the idea of modifying them to my liking. This is the first "tuner" car that I have owned, and the first car that I have been able to modify. Considering that fact, I was very in over my head at first, but this forum helped me immensely. In the last 2+ years of perusing this forum's various topics, I have learned so many different things about this car that I probably would have never known without it. With that being said, let the build list begin! A couple of recent pictures with current mods: Build List: Performance: -Custom Muffler Delete -GrimmSpeed Cold Air Intake (Red Inlet Tube) -Rev Works Un-Equal Length Header -OpenFlash Tablet -Stage 2, 93 Octane Custom Tune via @Wayno Wheels/Tires: -XXR530 18x8.75" +33 (Flat Black) -Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 K120 245/35/18 -Muteki Lug Nuts (Red) Suspension/Brakes: -Eibach Pro Kit Lowering Springs -Whiteline Camber Bolts (Front) -Stoptech Street Pads (Front and Rear) Cosmetic (Exterior): -15% Tint -Bayson R Fender Garnish -HIC Window Visors -Valenti Tail Lights (Smoked) -Flat Black JDM Toyota Emblems -Smoked Side Markers/Reverse Light Bar -Satin Black Wrap (Roof, side mirrors, side body line under window's) -Perrin Shorty (2") Antenna -Rexpeed Wide Angle Mirrors (Blue Tint) -Rally Armor Mudflaps -6000K HID Headlights -LED Switchback Turn Signals -Diode Dynamics LED Reverse Lights -Diode Dynamics LED Tag Lights Cosmetic (Interior): -Diode Dynamics LED Map and Trunk Lights -Diode Dynamics GT86 Center Console Plate -Exogear iPad Mini Mount -WeatherTech Floor Mats -Black Shift Bezel -Black Traction Control Buttons -Black Air Vent Trim -Red Carbon Fiber Shift Boot from RedlineGoods.com -Blox Shift Knob Audio: -Kicker 10" Subwoofer -JL JX250 Amplifier Timeline below: The first day I had the car: It didn't take too long for the mod bug to bite me and once it did, I never turned back. My first mod was a muffler delete: 02/14/2014 Then came some Valenti Tail Lights: 06/07/2014 After that I had the tint, subwoofer and amp installed: 06/14/2014 A Perrin Drop In filter and Inlet Tube was next: 09/01/2014 LED Bulbs and Center Console Badge from Diode Dynamics and Exogear iPad Mini Mount: 11/21/2014 New Wheels and Tires Installed: 02/28/2015 After about 6 months with the inlet tube/drop in, I decided to go with a full CAI. I chose GrimmSpeed, and couldn't be happier with my decision! I also replaced my factory floor mats and upgraded to WeatherTech: 04/10/2015 Next I bought an OpenFlash tablet from a fellow ft86club member for some performance gains!: 07/05/2015 Smoked my side markers and reverse light bar with Lamin-X film: 08/28/2015 Rev Works UEL Installed, stage 2 tune flashed: 09/03/2015 --Sound Clip-- [ame="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yb-YukPDuEM"]Scion FRS - RevWorks UEL - Stock OP/FP/MP - Custom Muffler Delete - YouTube[/ame] Bayson R fender garnish installed: 11/01/2015 Installed interior trim pieces, shift knob, shift boot, wide angle mirrors, shorty antenna, and black badges: 01/22/2016 Lowering springs, camber bolts and brake pads installed. I also had my ATF and Diff fluid changed: 03/21/2016 The last mod that I did was installing Rally Armor mudflaps that I acquired through another club member: 05/20/2016 That's all for now! I will keep updating as more mods are made. Right now I don't have any more mods planned, but I am thinking about doing a 4.56 or 4.88 final drive swap to help out with acceleration. Damn those tall ass AT gears lol. Please feel free to ask me anything about my build. Thanks for looking, and have a great day!! -J.B. Last edited by golfyankee2121; 11-08-2016 at 07:26 AM. |

Looking good! would you be down to swap trunks? I have trunk with OEM spoiler on it and want one without spoiler.

Yeah I like the look of that one more than the other OEM version. I would be down to trade, but I don't have any idea how to remove the trunk. The other thing is that my trunk's hole where the license plate screws in are completely stripped and gone. So I basically have my license plate Velcro'd to my trunk via industrial strength Velcro haha I'd be down to trade though if you're still interested. I am actually down in Port Saint Lucie this week so let me know and we can potentially meet up. -J.B. |

I have wanted to for a little while now, just haven't had the chance to. There are a couple of shops near me with dyno's, I just need to do it lol. If I ever do, I will be sure to post the logs here.
FWIW I used "virtual dyno" a while back and used one of my data logs and it gave me around 175 to the wheels. I have no idea how accurate that actually is, but it gave me a rough idea. I can tell you that it pulls way harder than it did in stock form hahaha -J.B. |
