Need help. 2016 Scion FR-S wheels

Hello everyone.

So I have a 2016 Scion FR-S stock everything.
And I just ordered in rims that are 18x9.5 +38 offset
Tires that are 245 35 18
I did my research before I ordered these two items and all the resources I looked up said there shouldn’t be clearance issues.
However I had them test fit the rims and there is BARELY any space what so ever
Like 3mm maybe between the edge of the rim and the strut.
What should I do? I purchased the rims from Fitment industries.
I would really like to try and put them on but I’m trippin so hard and torn on a decision.

The way I see it, you have 2 options:

1. Put them on and drive, if it rubs, put a small spacer in, maybe 3mm (Or do this for peace of mind anyway).

2. Get coilovers

So the stock suspension takes up a lot of space, coilovers use tighter wound springs, see how the aftermarket coils dont take up as much space as the stock? Plus, you can drop the ride height an inch or two which makes the car look phenomenal. You can get used coilovers for well under 1000usd. I got used fortune auto 500 for $750ish shipped

The rears will clear, the fronts might rub on the spring perch if you turn really aggressive. A safer tire for stock suspension is 235 35 R18 but it'll look stretched. I had the exact same wheel set up before But then I went with coilovers to allow me to run a 255 35 R18 setup.

Yeah it's probably the front that will rub the perch at some time with 9.5 and 38 offset.. it's not the tire 245/35/18 will run fine no on 35-40 offset wheels
