Targas suck balls.

Also 880cc injectors on the first car? Have you test drove it? If it's well tuned (880s aren't screwing with driveability), I'd go with #1.

That 1JZ shouldn't be more than 4k.

But again, targas suck balls.

For around $8k you could get a NA MKIV.

But from your list I say the white one. White really stands out at night. Good luck and keep us updated.

Haha both are targas, it's actually what I'm looking for weirdly. Besides the added weight are there any other issues? I just want a car to do highway pulls in, don't really care about turning, that's what the 86 is for. I'm also installing a full cage in case I toss it.

I test drive both cars on Sunday which obviously will be the biggest deciding factor. I know the white supra is tuned with the standalone AEM and was tuned professionally but I'll probably get it tuned again and maybe replace the injectors depending on how beat they are.

Every one I've owned (4? 5?) leaked in the corners. The rigidity is reduced/they twist and rattle more over rough surfaces. Also if you're a dumbass and forget that you didn't bolt it down, they tend to fly off at speeds around 100km/h, and don't typically survive the landing. (Ask me how I know... Facepalm) they're also a bit of a nuisance to remove/install.

But some people love them. They do look badass. Soooo much better than T bar roofs.

Holy shit! Man that T-top must have desenegrated at 60mph. Luckily this will be my weekend car and probably will never see the wet and will be garaged 90% of the time so i'll keep the t-top off.

Good information to know though, ever since I saw Fast and Furious with Paul's orange mk4 i've always wanted a T-top

Targa, dammit! T-tops are for Trans Ams and MR2s.

Heh...

Serious note, if you do go 1JZ, look into doing an NA rear diff, and build the 1JZ for revs. I was considering a late model NA VVT-i 2JZ head and aftermarket cans on my old 1JZ. Higher rpm limit will let you take advantage of the pull from the lower diff ratio and not lose out shifting at lower road speeds.

Plus high rev 1JZs sound fucking orgasmic.

But at the same price, I think the 7M car is the better deal.

LOL i always get them confused, yes I'm not a fan of T-tops at all.

How hard do you think it'll be to get the 7M smogged, with aftermarket ECU, semi-big turbo, I think it'll be impossible. Even if I throw on the cats I don't see it passing. It's my only concern.

Stupid California laws, we have a sniffer and a visual.

White one all the way. Nothing at all wrong with a 7m. Can be built super beast. Plus all the sweet parts it has already

JZ for the win. 1J is killer. Shame it's not the vvti motor but it's still a 1J which is a good enough reason alone.

The white one looks nicer on the outside but I'd choose the red one in a heartbeat

#2!

I've always preferred the 1J's to the 7MGTE

Plus, you can find plenty of parts for the 1J, and they are becoming increasingly popular so more parts will probably come out within the next 5 years or so.

Well guys, I went with Supra #1!!!!!

Man oh man am I excited. This will not/never be a DD, mainly proect car for weekend highway pulls. This has the built 7M with a decently large GT35 turbo. The clutch is tricky as hell; idle is a bit rough and I think it's running a bit rich so a tune is definitely needed. It has a two-step launch control feature and I think I shot a few flames. Definitely the fastest car I've driven and I haven't gotten her to full boost yet @ ~1bar (15psi).

Now to attempt to get the car smogged.. LOL
