Retirement age is 60 in Japan, but he wanted to work til 65. At 60, Toyota requested, he agreed & “retired” from Toyota to benefit younger engineers, so they can get promoted. BUT Toyota requested him to work, so he became a contractor & “contract” w Toyota. Suddenly Toyota is going away with having Chief Engineers. Believing that car should be build & updated without CE. So literally he doesn’t have much work for him as CE. They also going away of having multiple spoke person, instead they have 1 main spoke person each (1 for Toyota, 1 for GR & 1 for housing/architect) & cutting supervisors. So in the end, he retired earlier (well there’s more reasons). What Toyota is doing is making more efficient line for the staffs to communicate & less lines of supervisors to reduce the time wasting.

All in all, he’s enjoying retirement life, so that’s all it matters
Yes, design by committee is the most effective way to get things done... /s

How did he get so "famous" anyway?

My fingers would wear off unwrapping them before I even came close to eating everything. Candy has shrunk in size quite a bit this year.

I mean everything I bought feels smaller. The fun-sized chocolates feels about 1/2 sized. Hershey's used to be 2-3 tabs you could break off and eat, now they are one. The livesaver gummies and starbursts are individually wrapped when they used to be in pairs. And only 8-10 skittles in each baggie...

It's like to make up for a shortage they cut the products into without cutting the costs.

We lasted a whole hour and a half before running out. That's an hour longer than last year at least...

We have a few bags of chips and about a pound of the bite-sized candies left. Just took down the inflatable Frankenstein head.
