Fer sure, fer sure, but we started with the single shot weapon. The "gun" was cut out of plywood with a coping saw and the "trigger", a wooden clothes pin, was glued to the back of the pistol grip, so that the rubber band had to go around a bend.

The "ammo" were bands cut from old inner tubes. Now, it didn't tale us long to figure out how to "mod" our weapons by varying the length of the barrel and the thickness of the rubber "bands".

Best I get back to mopping the hard surface floors in the house, before I bore ya'll to death.

We built rubber band guns. The home my parent bought when I was about 3 (mom still there) had a big pile of boards of all sizes. One pile was long redwood 1 x1s. We would carve handles and have long pieces of the 1x1 for barrels. We made some with such long barrels that if the band didn't break loading it, you had a good shot. Just don't look down the barrel because if it broke, it might come back at you. We all had plenty of rubber bands because people got papers then. Good memories.
