Does anyone else get blower surge? Or whatever you care to call it. My idle hunts around a lot.

Hmmm maybe I'll just hold off on the E85/Flexfuel and aftermarket tune for now...

They said I am the only one with the issue that they know of. Before my charger the flex was fine even when it got freezing out. They are working with me and my shop is assisting to see what my issue is. It just sucks on top of my clutch problems.

I don't know who "They" are but I have been fighting the same issues for 6 weeks now and I thought the whole world knew about my problems. I also had the delicious tune flex fuel kit installed.

I was originally having the same issue as you even when the car was fully warmed. When Bill was in the Bay Area I met up with him and he worked on the tune a little bit and converted me to a hybrid tune. He fixed the idle issues and it stopped dying when coming to a stop. But it was replaced with the cold start problem. Last edited by clayrush; 03-24-2016 at 10:28 PM. |

Yea, I've worked with Edelbrock on 11 versions of it, it's now drivable, but not smooth. Still has some hesitation and uneven/inconsistent power band. From what I hear my car is a fluke though. Apparently most people don't have any troubles at all. |

For those of you with idle / drivability issues, check your fuel injectors. They are directional and should only be installed at a fixed clocked position. There's a tab on the fuel rail that aligns with the fuel injector connectors.
If it's not clocked in the correct direction, the fuel spray will be facing the wrong direction and may hit the walls of the runner instead of the center of the valve. |

I have stock with Edelbrock and some idle hunting for 20 seconds after start-up, but that's all...no stalls and stable thereafter. In normal driving from cold, I tend to have to give it a little extra gas, due to this dead zone effect people talk about, but once warm, it seems to drive normally. In fact, it does feel very stock until I really start getting the revs above 4.5k rpm or so.

It's weird, after a bit of driving, the ECU learns out the stalling. It still hunts a little and dips low enough to kill DRLs for a minute though. I don't get it. Finished my gauge install though, so that's a win.
Lighting is WIP, don't judge yet. |
