Problem with Toyotapartsoutlet.com

I recently ordered a heat shield / sunvisor on 7/24 and I have yet to receive any tracking #, the product or a response to my email inquiry.

I placed an order because I heard good reviews from other members, so I am a bit surprised that I haven't received the product as promised (2-5 business day shipping) and now I have had to resort to posting on the forum.

Anyone else have this problem with Toyotapartsoutlet.com or is this just a fluke? Seems like they are not an "official" vendor here, so their posts are now closed...

UPDATE 8/15/12

Just got it in the mail yesterday. Great quality, a little big though and I'm not sure where to store it in the cabin. It also fits my 2011 Forester XT

Same problem here. Ordered the 28th, charged on the 30th, no tracking since. I contacted them 4 times via email and got a cryptic cut off response from Billy about an error. I have to call them today to find out what the deal is before I reverse charge the transaction.

His number is posted in his threads I'm pretty sure.

Never understood why people make forum posts before spending a few minutes calling a vendor.

I ordered mine. There was no tracking information then it arrived on some random day. There isn't a lot of transparency when ordering from them but you will get your product. They seem to receive them in batches so they send them out in batches as they get them.

Just to provide my own perspective on this - I never understood a vendor who is willing to advertise online, take an order online, charge my credit card online, but can't take 30 seconds to respond to an email online asking for an update.

In any event, I did call them back as well and left a message with their parts manager to call me back with status on my order, or to respond to any of the emails I had sent them.

The reason I don't call is because I work nights and sleep days, so it is habitual and convenient for me to communicate via email.

That's why I buy through Amazon over Costco, no people to deal with, just give my money and get my product.

There is no excuse to promise shipping in 2-5 days, offer no tracking info and suddenly I need to call someone. If I make that phone call for an online purchase, that is a last resort, and I'll want a refund by that time.

Just an update - ToyotaPartsOutlet.com responded to me via e-mail and they informed me that the item I had ordered was backordered and they hope to get them in next week.

Perfectly valid response and update, albeit a bit late and took some prying to get.

I ordered ~11 days ago and called on Tuesday to inquire about the status. The gentleman said they were on backorder and had JUST received a large shipment. I had a tracking label later that night, scheduled delivery today.

I eventually got mine, it took about a week longer than their Email stated. I wonder if it is automatically sending out the shipping notifications the same time it registers the order or something, instead of when it really ships. The UPS package I received only took 3 days to get to me from when the actual ship date.

It is a nice heat shield, fits great and works well. It is a bit more inconvenient to get in and out of the window than the hoop style one I was using, but keeps the car much cooler. After a few days I got my system worked out on rolling it up and stowing it. LOL

My mudflaps through them were back ordered and I needed to call to find that out. They were helpful when I called but they could be better at letting you know the status of your order.
