Video: Factory Modified Toyota 86 TRD In Action on Track

Quote from homepage:
Quote:
Many from our site have been fans of the factory modified blue Toyota 86 which was present at the Toyota 86 press drives in Japan last week. The car features many TRD labeled parts, but the exterior doesn’t match anything we know so far. So what is it exactly?

It doesn’t quite match the Modellista 86 nor the TRD 86 brochure leaks we previously posted, but we’re inclined to believe that it may be an additional TRD aeorkit variant that will be offered.

In any case, have a look and listen to this Toyota 86 in action as it laps the track [VIDEO]. There’s some great sounds coming from its exhaust. Bonus views include some footage from the Toyota 86 presentation in English.

very nice exhaust sound

The presenter mentioned something about the manual transmission being a favorite Toyota something something transmission. Anyone able to understand it better than I? It implied they've used it for a while in other models.

Cool video. The thesis of the car was communicated very effectively.

Isn't that the modilista kit rather than the trd? Either way, it's horrible... Makes the wheels look even higher-offset than on the standard car.

Love how it sounds!!!

very nice find. That exhaust note is perfect. Not so sure about the rear wing though, it looks great on a 3/4 view but when you look at it from the rear it does look quite massive.

Definitely will be ordering trd parts when it comes out. I know it's too early to ask this but any idea whether or not we can source TRD parts from dealerships in Aus? or do we have to import it from japan?

Was anyone else struck by this slide:

As in.... why wasn't the AWD and turbo included if it makes it fun to drive?
Did I miss something?

(I know, I know... give me some time and I will get over it )

And....umm..... where did they think the rear passenger's legs were supposed to go?

Are they admitting no human can fit back there?
