I, too, may be in the market for such wheels having sold my RPF1 17x9 +35 wheels.

Something 17x8 with 35~40 offset should be plenty clearance even with high negative camber settings in the front. Also for a flush-er fitment relative to most wheels this size with a higher than 40mm offset.

Konig seems to have some in a +40mm in 17x8 wheels flow formed.

Really like the look (particularly the detail in the spokes) of these and the price, but they are cast aluminum, and they dont come in 5X100 in the 17x8. Information about weight is unavailable, not that it matters since they dont have the right lug pattern. https://www.avid1wheels.com/wheel-mo...40-hyper-black

I think most of their wheels require spline drive lug nuts. I'm not sure about that but you may want to look into it. I hate fiddling with those things.

I had Superleggeras on my A4. I really liked them. I think the ultras are the replacement for those wheels. They've been around a long time but I have not heard many complaints about them.

Not sure why you want such a low offset, 5mm spacer and slightly longer studs, spacer will be a handling tuning tool if you decide to use the motorsports wheels for motorsports.

First choice would be 35, but I'd be good with something between 35-40.

I've only had the car for two weeks, so I haven't had the time to look at things like wheel clearances.

How much room is there to the inside and what is the widest tire size I could use with the OEM 48mm offset?

Hell, you guys all know way more about the car than I do. What are the recommended offsets for a 17x8 wheel?

I went with an 8" as I know I can easily fit anything from a 225 to a 245 on it.

245 will be pinched on an 8 inch. Hence just go with 17x9 and be done with it

Hmm the widest tire you could probably put with a +48 offset on stock suspension might be a 235/40/17 and that tire size has very limited options. But it is hard to answer this question without knowing your suspension as getting coilovers, springs, wheel offset all become a factor for clearance depending on your suspension.

Typically for a car that is lowered 1" a 17x8 +35 offset will get you flush fitment. Here is a thread of the Konig Dekgrams my car is posted on the second page for reference. The Konig Dekagrams i have are 17x8 +40 and im using 245/40/17 tires and i really dont think the tire looks pinched it looks fine.

After I bought my 6ULs I became aware of cracking being an issue on tracked cars. I have done ~10 track days on mine, just did an inspection and sure enough I see hairline cracks starting on the inside of one spoke on three of my wheels. Small enough that I might not notice if I werent' looking hard, but the location is exactly where wheels are known to crack and fail. Doh...

Anyway, I'd stay away if tracking...

Same, had ultralegerras on my TT from 2007-2010. Great light wheels, can shrug off a decent pothole. Pain to clean though.

Yes, I bought a car with 245s on 8” wheels once. On center steering was awful cause the tire was flopping back and forth on the wheels. Switched to 235s and it was fixed.

I ran 245s on a 7.5 inch wheel on my BMW for years with zero issues. So I have no concerns with running them on an 8 inch.

Throw in that I honestly do not know that I will ever go beyond a 225 and a 9 inch wheel just does not make sense for me.

I'd love to just say screw it and get another set of ARC-8s, but they do not make sense for me.

Great info, as tracking (HPDE and possibly 86CUP down the road) is most definitely in my plans

My plans are to do nothing major with the suspension. The car needs to remain something that my wife is comfortable riding in (a horribly rough ride was the major reason she hated my BMW). So something like Bilsteins down the road, but nothing that will have a negative ride impact.
