Track: Noosa Summer Hillclimb, Queensland Australia
Car: 2013 BRZ
Mods: PSR UEL Headers and catless exhaust system, OFT E85 tune, MCA Race Prime coilovers, MFactory 4.76 FD.
Notes/Comments: The car performed fantastically and came away with a class win in Production cars up to 2000cc! This is a brilliant weekend of racing and I encourage anyone in SEQ to come and have a go.

Wanted to share some videos of my screwing up:

1. First track day ever, thought turn 9 thunderhill was more right handed than it was, ended up driving off the track. Luckily I enter the track again right after the "curb" ends so no damage whatsoever.

2. Laguna Seca earlier this year. Cold tires, thought I could floor it out of turn 3.

3. Thunderhill this past weekend. Wet track with cold tires, thought I could floor it but nope!

1.

2.

3.

Track: Arizona Motorsports Park (full)
Car: 2020 Toyota 86 Hakone
Mods: KW x GReddy coilovers, SPC LCA's, 18" TE37s with 255/35 Federal RS PRO's, Nameless axleback, GReddy oil cooler, CSG C2 brake pads & PMU fluid

Video from first session, first time on this track, and first time driving this car on track after adding the suspension and wheels/tires. 2nd event ever with the car. Lap time of 1:58.894. Was on pace to beat that time later in the day, but kept running into traffic.

Track: Road America
Club: GridLife
Car: 2013 FRS
Mods: Tein Flex A CSG Spec, Takeda CAI came with the car, Greddy Catback also came with the car, Enkei RPF1 17x9 +35, Hankook Ventus RS-4 255/40/17, AP Racing Sprint BBK, Gloc R10s square, some bracing.

Just got the coilovers on a week or two before and an alignment. First time on RA ever. Was able to put down a 2.47 on stock or stockish power. I honestly think that the spring rates on the TFA CSG Spec might've been just a little soft on RA.

Notes: October 2020. Only my second time on track with this car and third time ever. I've done a fair amount of autocross though. This is just a video of a couple of mistakes on my part on a cold day/track. All good though. Video is the in car and then the view from a buddy following me. Enjoy.

Don't take this the wrong way - but have you had an instructor with you at all yet?

The first spin, you're setting yourself up and creeping inside which is just pinching yourself on the exit. You should be following the guardrail up until the 100' board essentially.

As far as madness. It's WAY overly aggressive. There is no way your initial input was going to make that car stick.

I've had some instruction but both cases of the spin were absolutely mental errors in line and approach on my part. The first spin was a total brain fart of a bad line (it was cold ~45F), bad tire pressures (again, my inexperience) and topped off by down shifting which really caused the actual spin. Again, totally on me because of nerves and trying to not look too foolish to the buddy following me which obviously made me look foolish. The second one was, again, trying not to look too foolish to the buddy following me (again, duh) and not keeping an eye on my tire pressures. When I pitted I was at 35 psi and the normal pressure for the tires I had has shown to be 30 psi.

I do still have a lot of learning to do though. I'm lucky that the two spins weren't more eventful than they were.

Looking forward to getting my new 86 out on the track for the first time sometime this year.

It should be a fun adjustment going from my AWD BMW X1 to something better suited for the track. Don't get me wrong, the X1 was a complete blast and I was able to shock a lot of people with how well it performed. But clearly when it comes to being a drivers car the 86 wins hands down and should really help me improve as a driver.

Carolina Motorsports park. Don't mind my terrible driving...still getting used to my new pedal/brake setup.

Looks like a super fun car on a fun track. But I have to ask...what's with the flagpole inside your car?

lol, I get this all the time. slave cylinder on the rear brake circuit to operate the rear brakes with my hand...aka hand brake. Why is it so large? cause I'm too lazy to cut it down after I made it from a piece of solid aluminum rod.
