Need a new engine...

Well, I spun a bearing and now I'll need a new engine. I found a used engine in Fontana for 2500. I'll probably get that and put it in this weekend.

Then it will be time to start rebuilding the engine with the spun bearing with all sorts of good internals... Fun Times...

Didn't want to do this yet but not left with much of a choice...lol...

Details? What tune/modifications are you running? What oil? Dealer service? Service interval? Any racing? Boost?

Also this should probably go in the issues section.

You're not going to do much better than $2500 for a (non blown) long block.

Good luck with the rebuild.

Bigger valves.

Just sayin'

Edit: I already feel bad for typing that.

Unrelated curiosity... What turbo were you running anyway?

I was running an oft stage 1 on 91 at the time. I regularly changed/checked the oil. Most of the 75K I put on it was on E85.

I've driven the shit out of it though. Put a harsh 75K on it in two years. It was running motul ow20.

It went right after a pull at 126mph...

Did the car ever experiance overreving from misshifts or lots of time at the rev limiter?

Also, where are you sourcing your block from? I'm looking for some locally and have only found one. The other source i have is from lkq

new engine is in...

Got the new engine in, runs perfect... Now it's time to break down the old engine and see how extensive the damage is.

Correction, I had last put 5w20 Motul in it...not 0w20...

I just started going down the rabbit hole after reading two threads about 2013 models having leaks. Now of course mine will have a leak as soon as I check. Motherfu-....

And naturally, my warranty runs out in.. four days.

My '13 also failed at ~125mph... but that was 470whp.

If you can, find a '14 motor. They're the newest that'll work on our '13's as a drop-in replacement. You'll get all the internal improvements using a '14 motor versus a pull out of a '13 car.
