Got my shift knob from WC Lathe Werks (Chris over there does some amazing work)! From the time I ordered it around midnight, it was fabricated and delivered within 3-4 days!
Stainless steel sphere (gun metal finish), 2 narrow groove rings at the base with the shifting pattern on top. Let me just say, this shift knob is amazing. The drive home felt so good. I noticed gear selection takes less effort (seemingly) and feels 'right'. I used to have some difficulty going from 6th to 4th downshift. It was annoying at times trying to overtake only to rev-match and go right back into 6th. This knob has fixed that for me, love it! The only drawback, as usual with metal, HEAT. This bad boy does get quite hot and quickly. Looks like I'll have to find a shift sock! Close up:  Installed:  In first (or maybe reverse, I forget):

Installed mud guards. I know, I know, they "totally ruin the lines" but it's my daily driver and the roads around here aren't very clean at all, and I'm taking it on a 2,000 mile road trip in a couple weeks.

I actually like the mud guards. I think it adds a little look, but certainly does not take away from them. Somebody was asking for a pic of them on another thread, and I looked at the semi-distant pictures I had and none would show them well enough (on Firestorm nonetheless), so I guess that says enough!
Don't want rock chips on my paint!

Changed the transmission and rear diff fluids.
Used Redline MT-90 in the trans and 75-85 lightweight gear oil in the differential. |
