So this turned out to be BS by the looks of it. 5x100 listed everywhere. Sounds like "RMS Exclusiv"

I wonder how much RMS is retailing this R5,500 wheels for,

I have been doing some research and found a few wheel shops in SA that sell the XXR 527 wheel which fits the 86 pretty well,

18inch 5/100 8.75J x 36mm offset

(You do not need LCA or to Flare your Fenders - The 36mm offset fits pretty perfect with a +- 1 inch drop)

(I was actually considering importing these XXR, they retail for $500 in the states...But are easier to obtain in SA)

They retail in SA for approx. R7k to R7.5k for a set

Which is R2k more than your average wheel out there in the market,

But has a much better fit (And look) as it has a concave finish,

Specifically Hannaford(In KZN) will have stock at the end of May 2015.

Hope this helps for people who are considering Wizards or other aftermarket wheels for their 86/BRZ

You can use Facebook and search

"Hannaford Mag & Tyre" - Stock available end of May 2015 (KZN)

"The Wheel Shop" - Stock available (JHB ***)

These are pics of the same XXR 527 but with a 20mm offset (And 9.5J I think)

But you will need rear LCA (Lower Control Arms) + Flare fenders and other suspension mambo jumbo (Not sure what else you need to live the 'stance' life)
to get that negative Camber in the rear.

Looks Hot,

but not sure if its worth losing the practicality of having a car that low.

anyone know the weight of the above mentioned wheels compared to stock?

I'm cautiously looking for 17x8 or 17x9's (don't want bigger rims) - but only see it being worthwhile if the new rims are lighter.
Otherwise thinking of just using spacers to get the wheel out a little more and fitting slightly better tyres (225's), as a cheaper and easier solution for a touch more grip and slightly better looks.

Do the XXR's come in 17" or 18" only? I don't want to go 18s just because.

Wise choice.
18s might look great but they're not necessarily quick.
You've seen how quick @FT_86_SM_GP is on 16s.
Also smaller tyres are cheaper.

I went through this dilemma a couple of years ago and based on advice from people I trust I stuck with 17s but 7.5 width and a 13mm offset difference to the stock wheels, which pushes them out a bit. And 225s. I'm very happy with this.

There are some excellent wheel fitment threads elsewhere on these forums. Be warned, the world of offset calculations can give you a sore head very quickly!

Yep, I agree 100%

17" x 35 offset and 7.5 width combined with 225/45R17
Hard to beat that.

Thanks @CWP68 - sounds pretty much what I'm looking for.

There is a really detailed thread about sizes, offsets and combos of tyres etc... But after 15-20 mins younforget what you read first and then to compare just becomes mind numbing!

Now to find decent suppliers in SA.
What did you get in the end?

I warned you about that thread

I have A-Line Claw. FishEagle also has A-Line though I'm not sure which ones.

Yep, I run A-Line, and I'm very happy.
I've got two sets of GTR-Sport 17x7.5 x 35 offset, but A-Line don't import what I got anymore, but there are other similar rims.
Used to be about R4500/set two years ago.

They've stood up to a lot of abuse.
The one set has 20+ track days and they're fine.
The other set about 7 track days.

Awesome.
And decent price (hopefully the Rand hasn't doubled that!). Love the look of those 'claws' and good to know everyone who has a-lines is happy.
I've mailed them... Will share prices if I get any!

Thanks. A-line themselves just replied. R6790 per set is recommended retail.
