If you turn the gear indicator on and obey the shift indicator, you'll be surprised at just how low it wants to go, and once you're there, how much you don't actually need to shift, give just the slightest bit of throttle above steady state and it'll just carry on up a 10% grade like it's nothing.

I bet it serves the same function as the max-efficiency upshift arrow. It actually works nicely. Boring, but efficient.

If you're just driving along with traffic on 50km/h streets like what 100% of my work commute is, the torque bump below the torque dip works just as well as the torque bump above the torque dip.

if IAG says you need to do xyz break-in, then that only applies to their engines. applying the same break-in procedures to engines built by subaru simply because they're the "same engine" is just an over-simplified way to approach this. if subaru doesn't specificy engine break in procedures in their manual, then don't worry about it. |

You were hoping for a useful feature? I'm sorry. That's not how modern regular cars are made. They figured out that most people don't know what to do with useful features so they make butt warmers and touch screens instead.

My favorite is Ford's oil pressure gauges where the needle only actually has two positions: low and middle.

Food for thought:
https://auto.jepistons.com/blog/how-...k-in-an-engine "In WOT dyno testing, likely the rings are seated by the end of the first few runs" And a screenshot I made from a European car community: https://i.imgur.com/evhQVC6.png I tend to agree, there's a limited time frame to correctly seat the piston rings against freshly honed cylinder walls. There are too many variables if the customer would be in charge of "mating the rings against the cylinder wall". |
