Why don't you own an Ariel Atom? I can't think of anything more gokart like for DDing.
That's a different type of getting away with. wife > atom

Would be cool to drive one someday. FRS is good enough.

The Atom is slightly too leaky for the pnw.
My bikes have better water shedding properties.

That's kind of my point. Everyone wants a certain level of features, comfort, and usability in their cars.

That level is different for different people. When I was 25, I definitely would have DD'd an Atom, if I'd been offered one for a price I could afford.

doesn't that point exactly demonstrate how terrible of an original question this entire thread is?

I think it was a good enough question. In its spirit, I think the topic is quite interesting.

And the very first response was well thought out and summed the answer perfectly.
All the pages of "well if money is no issue get a XXXX" and playing word games with the original questions is just normal car forum dead horse beating.

I mean, rephrasing the thread title/question, "which would you rather own, if you didn't have to pay for it - a GR86, or a Supra" and the problem is that it's implied you own, drive, and love the car.

If I was offered a new Supra or GR86, I'd take the Supra. I'm gonna sell it and use the proceeds to modify my BRZ. Either car, I don't want the car. I don't know know OP but I'm willing to bet "which car has more immediate resale value" isn't why they asked which car we'd rather have.

But that wasn't the question at all.
It was simply "if you don't care about cost which of these two would you get".
The first response was just about perfect whereas it sort of went off the rails as soon as everybody started changing the interpretation of the original question.
It was never "if somebody gave you a free XXXX car" or "what other car would you consider".

If somebody is giving away random cars I will take a '69 Dart 440 GTS please.

The question is "which would you rather have" which doesn't include "and why". I think the "why" is more important than the "which", and part of the reason the thread is so long at this point.

I know a lot about the twins but I don’t know a ton about the Supra. I will research of course, but I wanted to come here first and ask the people who’s taste is most like mine - which one would you rather have if either one could be given to you? And why?

That's not what I said at all lol. You said the question wasn't specific enough, I said it was quite specific as you are given a scenario with two options. The problem is that throwing "money is no object(or option as the OP put it)" leads people to interpret it as you are wealthy which is why we get the "if I am rich why would I buy those two" responses. The term merely means money is not an obstacle to the purchase. I said so much 4 pages in. If you are trying to troll, please do better in the future.

Dallara Stradale is still the correct answer though
