Apparently something is wrong with my car. I went out again today to try some of the ideas with no avail. What could cause my engine to only rev up to 22-25k and not spin the tires? According to my master Toyo tech he thinks i need a higher stall torque converter It would do it right after I installed my turbo and go sideways. I can still do donuts like a madman getting chased by a banshee, lol. I do know that my rear pinion bearing is going out from the slight whine sound it makes under no acceleration. Driving and let off the throttle and the rear whines and stops when I accelerate. The dealership is replacing the whole rear end because it is such a new car and they wont just change the pinion. I also had my rev limit bypassed via my EcuTek tune to rule that out. Didnt help. Any constructive opinions? I mean this car flies and was doing great! The power from the FBM turbo is incredible. I need to get this fixed before the rest of my exterior parts come in from Japan in a few weeks. God knows I dont want it with a mechanic after the exterior is complete. Accidents happen in the shop but I would prefer they not be on my new paint and body kit.

If it is really that important to you to do burnouts often I would lessen the wear and tear on your driveline, brakes, axles etc and install a line lock kit. I am planning on adding one this winter while the car is in hibernation.

Not sure if you have seen this, but SSP plans to release stages of modification for the AT including torque converter so you could call them and discuss. See this thread and post #20:

I don't think that "important" is the right word. LOL. Something is definitely wrong some where. Im hitting around 320whp at 7psi on pump 93 and she wont brake stand! Regarding SSP, I emailed rhem last week because another forum user talked about them and they replied that they will be r eleasing parts this coming week or the week after. I have exchanged emails a few times and am going to call them tomorrow. I wish I would have known about the donor car back then. I would have paid the shipping! At this point, I would just like to know what would have caused the car to stop doing it. I done less than 10 burnouts after my turbo install, that is what worries me. Maybe with the new rear end, that will fix the unknown problem and then see what SSP has to hand over more money too.

Just wanted to drop back on this post and confirm that my Torque Converter is fried. Im working with SSSPerformance on getting their upgraded one. It wasnt the importance of being able to do a burnout, it was the point that I knew I had twice the torque than when it was stock and suddenly stopped doing them. FYI, if you have a FI car and drive the shit out of it. Be prepared for some major transmission upgrades. I forgot to mention the transmission clutch pack!

In terms of increasing the stall speed on the torque converter... you're best bet is either SSP, Level Ten, or IPT.

I don't think any of the companies as of this time have a high stall torque converter though. SSP did mention they have a lot of stuff in the works... but you're best bet is to give these places and a call and see.

Edit...

Saw that you're working with SSP on that torque converter...

For the clutch packs, Raysbestos may have high energy clutch packs available by now. Not sure.

I have some great news im going to be posting threads about regarding my issues and the Torque Coverter. Also another tranny upgrade piece. To all the ones who said my issue didnt have anything to do with the TC, its amazing now with the new @SSPerformance Torque Converter from @sspkris my torque is goimg to the tires. I can to a burn out as long as the road is or until I cant keep it straight. More technical info to come along with other transmission upgrades discussions.

Awesome news man. Glad you could find a vendor to help and looking forward to seeing the work you had done from SSP.
