Seems like more people are going with +35 vs +45 offset on the 245/40/17 tire size even though it pokes. Can anyone tell me why? Will upgraded brake choices be limited much by the +45?
Thanks! |

Also for the stock suspension guys, +45 just barely clears the spring mount, so in general its easier to go with +35 and not worry about tire hitting where you cant see. I would say +45 is generally a better/closer fit, but in the land of aftermarket you cant assume parts will be at the same tolerances at OEM

True. True. But, This is an Enkei RPF1 thread. Enkei is an OEM wheel supplier. Additionally, the RPF1 is generally considered the best compromise between weight, cost, and quality. You can trust that they will fit accurately.

correct, but i meant more along the lines of combining aftermarket parts. wheels + tires(actual width depends on brand) + camber bolts can be enough to cut that clearance to nothing and shred a tire without realizing it.

Thanks guys. They will be going on stock suspension for a short time before the suspension mods are done but I did read others here who had no clearance issue (just really close) on stock. It will always get better with suspension upgrades right?
I can get the +45 much cheaper and prefer the look over +35. Just not sure how much I’m limiting myself brake wise. This is for a fun dd car that will also see some HPDE / autox, but again for fun so don’t need to go insane, but still want fairly high end. Will I still have good options without spacers? Thanks again! I’m new to all this but very excited for the fun to begin |

For HPDE/Auto X, your better off upgrading your Rotors, Pads and Lines and going for +45 offset. Good Luck. |

Yes, the plan is to upgrade all of that. Just wanted to check if I'd still have some good options to do so with a +45 offset. Sounds like you think I will. Thanks! Won't be put on for another 2 weeks or so but whatever I get I'll post some pics and clearances!

I have a '17 PP now and I really do like the look of +35 RPF1's, so when we do end up lowering the car and making an STX build out of it, I plan to buy +45 wheels and put 10mm spacers on each corner to clear the brakes. I think I'd need a big fender roll to clear +35's in the back with a spacer. They wouldn't NEED a spacer in the back, but might look weird having a wider offset up front, and might affect performance a bit. Who knows. Either way, +45's with 10mm spacers is the plan. |

A couple of shots from the last track day. The RS3's were like night and day compared to the KU36 I had on before hand.

Just another RPF1 in 17x9 +35
After 3 months of waiting, finally picked up these babies. Definitely not enough of the bronze ones out there!!
Suspension specs Bilstein B16 Coilovers Front dropped 30mm; rear dropped 35mm -1.7 Camber up front; -1.5 in the rear Yokohama Advan AD08R 245/45R17 Daily driving- 0 rubbing; to test spirited driving and confirm. Update- Can confirm still not rubbing on spirited drives. Went for a drive through my national park which is quite bumpy and not rubbing. Update 2- Can confirm I have a very small rub on the rear. Fronts are 100% perfect. Rather than dialling in more camber in the rear I have gotten the rear guards slightly cut to give the bit of clearance as it was just rubbing slightly.
