I agree, it's a factory thing however seems like the second colour choice came late in the cars body in white life...

What does the dealer who sold you the car have to say ? I always say I would never repaint a vehicle a different color cause of under the hood and door wells. I would not be happy about a new one coming like that.

That would bug me. I had a z4 like that and it just looked cheap and shoddy to my eye.

I looked under the hood of a 860 in my dealers show room. It looked just like this. I think they are cool just the same. If they were on my dealers lot two weeks earlier, and they had a Halo one. I would have bought one (with a stick).
On another note, I have noticed that most of these 860's limited edition cars are automatics in So Cal.

Honestly I find it unbelievable that Toyota (Subaru) would let these out the door that way. This must be some kind of distributor channel rework item, create a "limited edition" at or after port entry.

Shoddy and terrible.

That bothered me as well.

To repaint on line they would have to run it through the white, take it off the line and run it back through the orange. This would interfere with the whole line. To run it through white, take it off, run it through orange someplace else and then put it back would still impact the line but not to the same level as tying up the paint booth. There was oviously some valid (to them at least) reason it was done how it was. It is weird though.

Holy shit this must be a joke. You would think they would mask it off so it didnt look like a macco paint job.

for 30k though. I would refuse the car just seeing that. Resale is going to be interesting. Id image it would throw red flags for someone who isnt aware this is how they came from factory.

gt 860 with exclusive macco paint job.

Any other 860 owners have the same issue? I'd have the dealer spray the overspray white at least. Looks like some cheap spray can job IMHO.

All owners that have commented and all pics on a search show the same thing.

Not the end of the world and although goofy I don't understand the fuss. It is in the engine bay.

I guess I'm the only one that doesn't mind. Factory paint + factory applied = feature
