Toyota 86 Shooting Brake Concept revealed!

Remember they practically didn't do anything to make it look like a good shooting brake, or a wagon. They just added that roof thing and the hatch door. I don't think they spent any time styling or doing anything else.

I would strongly consider it if it actually turned into a wagon. This would mean stretching it a bit, beefing everything up, adding two more doors (or half doors) and in general increasing the "practical aspects. At this point in the concept development it is really just a fast back 86 and I see zero benefit to it over what I have.
Of course as Zak points out this is a first intro concept so things will probably change.

Yep and like I said the difference is not big enough to sway me over from the coupe.

The hatchback concept is cool for a younger crowd. It's not sexy. I'm glad it's not a 4 door....

Convertible? No? Thought that's why we have a trunk...

I'm all about aesthetics, it looks like a wagon. and really that is the asset that attract me to wagons anyway. I like that look. I could really care less if its "technically" a wagon although i know my Form over Function mindset is not common in this forum.

I cant stop picturing it with a bad a** roof mounted wing and rocket bunny'ed

(A) Impressively ungainly, (B) not a four door.

Clearly it was sent from Autralia to Japan before being actually built, it's a kit car. Especially based on the outgoing model. With bigger/squarer Windows all around, more in line with the subtle retro vibe of the base car, and no fake Windows anywhere, it would be good. Of course the worst hatchback FR-S is the only one that exists.

But Subaru also expressed intent (via concept car) to do a hatchback ZN6. I bet it's gonna exist

I'm not sure where theyre going with this concept lol. I'd be suprised if it made it to production.

My favorite concept is the t top.
