I wish I knew. I'd love to find out, and find out if there's anything tune related that could help.

You're engine braking since the throttle is shut (no air) There's no fuel from the injectors and no combustion. The RPMs of the pistons creates the vacuum and natural deceleration. Probably this creates the resonant peak or maybe even a stand wave in vibrations in aftermarket exhausts. OEM obvi sorted this out with appropriately sized everything

The fujitsubo authorize S axleback is sitting in my kart. Just waiting to pull the trigger.
I'm thinking in the same direction. Torn between the Fujitsubo and the Invidia Q300. Just can't justify the coin for the STi.

Do you want louder stock with a better sound profile or something different? Also what the rest of your exhaust look like?

Gruppe S UEL header and OP, stock everything else at the moment. I'd mostly like a fuller tone, and wouldn't mind a bit more volume as well.

Take a hard look at CSG touring catback. Same cost as the authorized axle back.

Yeah, that was on the list too. But honestly, as trifling as it sounds, I don't like the tips.

The Q300 can/will heat cycle out and turn into a tin can as the packing in the muffler deteriorates.
Depends how long/how much you drive the car. Mine is a daily that will see many heat cycles.

I'm going to strongly advocate for the MXP SP, it's a good balance between price and quality. Not as expensive as the Fujitsubo but near as good quality. It's deep and quiet. With these hangers it eliminated the drone around 3000rpm. Honestly road and tire noise is louder than the exhaust at speed but with the window down or even booting it inside the car sounds fantastic. I have compared my car to one with a q300 and hands down the MXP is much nicer imo.

I did not know that, thanks for the info. Mine's a daily as well, so that's certainly a consideration.

That's MAPerformance?

Any chance you've compared that to the CSG touring, also made by MAPerformance?

Not sure if it makes a difference for you, but MXP is made by Mackin Industries (stands for Mackin Xtreme Products). No relation to MAPerformance

If you mean MXP (Mackin extreme products) as mentioned above, then I ruled out the CSG exhaust simply for the fact that it is 409 Stainless steel and the SP is 304 SS. I don't know how heavily you guys salt your roads in the winter over in Halifax, but here in Ontario it's really bad. Being my daily driver it was a no brainer to pick the 304SS MXP SP.

I think CSG may claim it is quieter (I'll let them speak for themselves), but I couldn't imagine my exhaust any quieter than it already is. Perhaps the real test will be after I get a header and front pipe. As of now I'm stock apart from the exhaust.
