I have been hit by hundreds of what looked like boulders off trucks just like that and not a chip. The small crack I do have was on a very windy day (70 mph+) when some sand blew up and hit me while stopped at a light. I wasn't even moving!

Ahhh - yes, the old twisted frame crack. Usually occurs in cheap, lightweight cars in windy conditions -

Nope. Chipped star crack created by a small piece of wind borne sand.

Mine runs like its brand new...of course looking at its odometer you'd think it was my summer car. Still haven't hit 45K km, my commute to work is the shortest its ever been distance-wise and unlike most low mileage 86/BRZs mine sits in traffic an awful lot, 40% of the commute is simply waiting, and sometimes waiting for far too long. During a notable GTA snow day, my typical 20 minute commute stretches to an hour. There was a WTF moment where GTA drivers really didn't know how to drive what I thought was a modest snow day...that same commute stretched to 1 hour and 40 minutes. On a good day with little traffic this commute time goes down to 12-13 minutes.

This is my only issues list:
- Driver door trim rattle around speaker grille, this was fixed under warranty
- Parcel shelf rattle, fixed but is rattling a bit again
- Replaced battery 2 months ago.

The only other issue is windshield, but this isn't mechanical rather road conditions. One of my windshields is cracked. My current one has a fixable small star crack.

So yeah 2 rattles, a battery and a windshield. Essentially nothing.

I love it

I got it in white.

It's weird having so much power. Going from a car that needs to be reved out verus a car that can break speed limits by going 2000-3000 RPM.

What was the cause of the parcel shelf rattle?

2013 FR-S, coming up on 80,000 mi. All the usual, driver side passenger power window auto up/down flaky, dipping idle/hard start, both dealer would not fix because they couldn't duplicate. TOB grenaded at around 50-60k miles, again dealer would not cover it and told me wait time was a month if I wanted them to do it. Understandably I am reluctant to have the engine recall done. leaking left taillight the dealer actually did replace. Also have the window rubber rollup, which I solve by lubing it with silicone grease. Theres a rattle going over bumps somewhere on right, might be the tie rod.

I am so glad that I didn't know they even made the car until 2014. The TOB was the only issue on this list that I have ever had and I am now at 120K miles.

I have a '13 FR-S bought new in Nov., 2012. It has about 35K miles, and I've only had to replace the cam cover that seeped a bit of oil onto the exhaust with an aftermarket aluminium one. I don't drive it too much, mostly just highway miles, and it still has the original tires (I know, they need replacing). Great car, and I can't see any need for replacing it.

No, there isn't a way to disable it. Since most cars have the window on a frame, our windows are "frameless" so it needs to drop a little bit when opening. Other cars do this too but I haven't researched to see if they have the same tint issues.

It's the rollers like @Ultramaroon mentioned. They were set too much on the earlier years. You'd have to replace them, but even then I'd have to replace the door seals + redo tint + replace the mechanism.

My window rubber rollup is pretty bad to where it's almost off of the door frame when the window slides up. I can see the metal where it attaches to when I look up from driver's side. Think grease would help in my case as well?
