Also curious about this head unit. Will it be a direct swap to the 2017 head unit? I imagine it will be.

I have wondered the same thing. I’ve been trying to find someone with a 2020 to confirm that the backup camera is located in the rear view mirror (I have a 2019 GT and it’s located there). I also asked a salesperson at my local Toyota dealership to call me when they get a 2020 in so I can examine it. I will update if I find out.

Hmm I wonder if it would be compatible with my 2017 then? I have the backup camera in the screen, but I want CarPlay and to retain my backup camera.

I have no idea if this will be a direct fit for pre-2020 cars but this seems to be the head unit.

FYI 2020 models still have the backup camera in the rearview mirror. 100%.

I have no idea why would you want a newer stock head unit. Where you can buy any aftermarket one with better overall features.
The amount of money you'll spend to find one or get a brand new in from the dealer you can get an aftermarket one along with it professionally installed. But eh, just my two cents.
