I was able to grab a set of MX72+ from Blackhawk Japan for $380cad shipped. Everything else comparable is 2x-3x the price with our monopoly money exchange rate.

I don't understand the excitement about some pads! Those using MX72+ could get better performance from a Hawk HP+ and at a fraction of the cost. About $125...

RETRACTION!I WAS BITTEN BY THE FAHRENHEIT VS CELSIUS BUG.
Hawk does everything in Fahrenheit. I was thinking it was C without checking.
I know I could not run HP's on the track. They can't do double-duty if you are aggressively using your brakes.
But, they are cheap!

HP+ is just a street pad that can't do track. It appears to be a 300-600 F pad. I would fade those on the street. I am at the upper limit of use for the mX72+ and they are 1382°F pads. I tried Ferodo DS2500 and liked them, but they disintegrated. Also Killed GLoc G6 on track ( yes they are definitely an Autocross pad). HP+ wouldn't even do it on street for me. I have had those previously on another car. The powerstop Z26 pads are as good.

I run the HP+ pads on the track and they work just fine. Admittedly, they are sitting under a set of 6 piston Wilwoods but they are still just fine.

What crazy world are you living in where they don't work on the street?

Heat range on HP+ is half the MX72. 600f on HP+ and 1200f on mx72+.
I ran HP+ last year, they worked fine for the very light seasons I did, but wasn't a huge fan of them.

HP+ are $300cad per set. Not sure why Blackhawk Japan has MX72+ priced so aggressively compared to US retailers but an extra $80 is a no brainer to me. I was told they're made to order(1.5.month to ship)

If you are burning up Hawk HP+ on the street, you are doing something very wrong.
That being said, it's an autocross pad, not a track pad.
They have been excellent autocross pads for me. No fade ever, even at the big event I go to with 90+ second laps and 80mph top speeds. But having a factory PP car helps I'm sure.

What is initial bite like on the HP+ and MX72+?

Im looking for a new street pad that has a hard initial bite like Winmax W3 or Project Mu HC800

I can only speak for the HP+, which does not have a hard initial bite.

I like the Stoptech 309's for better initial bite. Just be careful - last set I ordered were counterfeit from Amazon.

I like the higher initial bite for the my WRX on the street that has notoriously soft pedal feel on the normal calipers. For my autocross BRZ, I prefer less initial bite and a more progressive feel... plus the Brembos don't need any more feel really. You end up adding too much brake a lot of times.

Check out the Stoptechs if you can still find them. Not sure if they'll be in HP+ territory as those are more of a semi-track, kinda streetable pad IMO.

try CSG's pads. We ran them in an 8+7 hour format at COTA (big braking zones) and left with enough pad to do another 15 hours (but it would be cutting it close).

Cross border from US is way more expensive than from Japan unfortunately.
Actually think i may try Project Mu HC-CS next.
Here are the specs and differences for me from RHD Japan (Note i have a 6 piston front kit):

MX72 Plus:
Material: Ceramic Carbon Metal
Applicable Rotor Temperature (): 50~750
Friction Coefficient (μ): 0.39 ~ 0.47
(F) MX72 Plus AP Racing 6 Pot D51 - RCP116: CA$323.08
(R) MX72 Plus BRZ\86 - EP472MXPL : CA$168.23

PMu HC-CS:
Material: Super Graphite Metallic
Applicable Rotor Temperature (): 50~800
Friction Coefficient (μ): 0.41~0.50
(F) Project Mu Type HC-CS AP Racing 6 Pot D51 - F1093: CA$175.92
(R) Project Mu Type HC-CS - ZC6 ZN6 - R914_HC-CS: CA$147.78

I wanted to try the CSG CP:
0.43 - 0.49 μ 50 - 700 °C
But the price for the stock brz is $360US per axle, which is CA$518 Canadian tire bucks each axle before shipping.

What the hell are you guys doing on the street that you need more aggressive pads?

I run have cheap low dust pads in everything from my 850hp suv to… pretty much all ny cars.

I haven’t tried the other two, but the CSG last a real long time.
They’re in a bbk but I bet they could last something like 25 HPDE days.
