My terrible experience with Stance Shocks and how CSG came to the rescue
I'll try to keep it as short as possible:
Cliff notes: Stance screwed up my shock rebuild I sent them back to get rebuilt (at my cost) + bought another pair from them They got delayed We asked to be expedited a tiny bit and pay $400 for overnight shipping because we had a race coming up They told us to pound sand, they dont care if we miss a race, and they can't bump us up in the queue at all. CSG found us new coilovers and overnighted them to us. I canceled my order with Stance (meaning they didn't even start work) CSG also has awesome brake pads. A while ago I got my shocks rebuilt by stance. The first time around they were fine, went an est 130 hours and their tear down showed they were still in fine shape. I drive a pretty smooth track on 200s and generally take care of my stuff so no surprise. But 130 is a pretty good number After about 30-35 hours of use, I noticed they started seeping We started racing WRL. There wasnt enough time to get a rebuild so we just ran them. We got them off the car and sent them stance because obviously, seeping at 30 hours is an issue. (Keep in mind, a shop and reseller did this work and had records of the mileage) I also order another set of coil overs from them, so I can swap between them for rebuilds. Their response was to my shop, more or less, oh yeah, this is an old design rebuild with new design parts so it isn't going to last. Well why the hell didn't you tell me that when I was rebuilding in the first place? I'm only in this mess because you put parts in you knew weren't compatible. They graciously offer to update to new style components for $900 or so. Great. They say they will ARRIVE last week. Great. Mid to late next week we don't get any shipping into so we call. Yeah, we're behind, sorry. You're in the queue though. Okay, we have a very expensive race coming up and we need them. We have a top ranked IMSA driver on our team, and he's calendared a test and tune session we're paying for track side support on top of that. Each race costs the team $20-25k so SURELY you guys can bump us up in the line right? Nope. You're in line, you'll wait in line. Okay, just bump us up a little for ONE of the two sets, we will pay the $400 to overnight them, then pay shipping for the second set when they're done and the shop committed to staying late to get it done. The response was basically, Go fuck yourselves, I told you no. You'll get your shocks when you get them. This is your problem (which they entirely caused, twice). When we started to threaten to cancel our order, they bent over backwards (/s) backwards and (checks notes) offered to bump us up by one day and maybe get them out the day they're finished, completely screwing us if they didn't get them out the day they built them. This is absolutely bizarre. Typically, (good) motorsports companies bend over backwards to provide race support. No matter how much you plan, last minute stuff happens. They'll do everything they can to get stuff to racers- and I've heard some pretty incredible stories. "We are running late, there are 4 people ahead of you and we dont really care if our delay ruins your race weekend- we aren't going to even attempt anything at your expense" is some DMV level bullshit. It's bullshit even if I wasn't racing. So I called CSG. They've been offering us AWESOME support through this learning curve of endurance racing an 86 (which, let me tell you- is one hell of a curve) and all I bought from them to date was 2 sets of their brake pads (which, by the way, are worth every penny. I'm not sure why anyone tracking their car would use anything else- they perform wonderfully and after 15 hours of racing + 4 hours of practice, we had 50% left). They spent time with me over a holiday when they were closed and got a set of coilovers overnighted to me with absolutely no drama. A significantly more expensive solution, but we had a solution. This is a heck of a lot easier than it sounds because there are a limited number of options available. We need "high end" shocks to last in endurance racing. It's hell on shocks. But we also can't run dual adjustable or remote reservoir shocks. So there aren't many shocks that good enough to last but only have rebound adjustment at that quality/price point. We canceled our order with Stance (apparently, they hadn't started anything because they refunded us and are shipping our old shocks back). The shop blacklisted them. I certainly have as well. Absolute trash

Glad CSG helped you out. David and Mike are good people. I wouldn't dare put Stance coilovers on any of my vehicles. Just another generic coilover.
