Here is a list...

low power to high power

Miata, BRZ, 370Z, Mustang

Low Weight to high weight

Miata, BRZ, 370Z, Mustang

Steering feel best to worst

Miata, BRZ, 370Z, Mustang

AutoX time (best to worst)

Miata, BRZ, 370Z, Mustang

track times (worst to best)

Miata, BRZ, 370Z, Mustang

Anyone seeing a pattern?

Pick the styling you want...

Pick the car you want...

None are the "wrong answer".

I don't get the Mustang hate...its a great car especially for the money.

Is it a pig? Yes. It is a big fast pig.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of the new changes appearance-wise but I can understand if they are trying to make it "sleeker".

Weight issues aside, the reason I decided to get my FR-S instead of the V8 Mustang/Challenger I wanted was not that they weren't fast, but that I might as well have been driving my old Lumina (when it was a little fresher) or my neighbor's Eldorado. I didn't feel comfortable taking it to higher speeds because I felt so disconnected from the road. Those were, of course, test drives so it's not exactly an indicator of how it would be to own one and eventually get comfortable enough to drive at the speed I would have liked, but that's just my two cents. Not to mention that the power delivery, at least for me, was not that thrilling. Not that the FR-S even felt more powerful, but it felt like a race every time I got in and that was a feeling that appealed to me.

When I saw my FR-S, it was kind of an instantaneous love. As bad as I had wanted a Mustang for the last year leading up to my purchase (and had the means to get one), I never felt that same way. I would have rather driven my '66 Mustang every day as it felt lighter and more entertaining.

Most of the debate here seems to revolve around weight, but I'm hoping that even with its extra weight, it will have a more exciting "drive" to it than the last models.

So if what I'm reading is correct, Steeda doesn't actually have a car, but they're claiming they've weighed it?

Not saying it's unbelievable. But I'll wait until official numbers are posted.

So it gained about 200lbs? I'm wondering what the difference is between a base ecoboost versus a fully loaded model.

Doesn't really add up to me...

Why did the V8 manual gain 34 lbs more than the auto? Not that it's impossible (if they changed the transmission, for example) but that and a few other of the weights (Ecoboost is heavier with a manual?) just don't really add up.

Color me skeptical these are real numbers.

The weight gain isn't too bad relative to the outgoing model. Less than +100 lbs. for all trims. It's not nearly the -400 lbs. that was originally promised by Ford, but I guess it's not awful.

This is going to be a big car though.

Wheelbase: 107.1"
Length: 188.3"
Height: 54.4"
Width: 75.4"
Weight (GT manual): 3704 lbs.

As compared against an FR-S:

Wheelbase: 101.2" [-5.9"]
Length: 166.7" [-21.6"]
Height: 50.6" [-3.8"]
Width: 69.9" [-5.5"]
Weight (base manual): 2758 lbs. [-946 lbs.]
