Pacific Raceways Baseline with FR-S
Today we set the time to beat at Pacific Raceway.
This is our baseline number of what the FR-S will do at Pacific Raceway. Excited to see how low the number can go! Car handled great, real steady and predictable. We ran the car with the stock tires. This and the brake pads was our major bottle neck. The tires... well, do I really need to say anything? The brake pads were fading quite badly and wearing out quickly. After a few laps we reduced compression on the fronts by one click curing a bit of harshness that was upsetting balance. Fastest time of the day was min1:45.25 All in all quite impressed. Will now need tires and a sway bar matching then Brakes deffinately. So the set up of the car today was: lighter battery KW V3 Coilovers lowered 1.25 inches Dot 5 brake fluid no spare tire no radio in dash (lap timer installed instead) K&N Drop in Air Filter HKS oil filter Mobil 1 0w/40 oil Ishii |

Depressing. With those mods and it's power I think it should have easily done a 1:40.
Ok so now that the pics are up I see this was on stock wheel/tires. I can now see the 1:45. The fast-ish times for a completely OEM S2000's were something like 1:43's. It will be interesting to see what this can do with some real aggressive suspension and a new set of R-comps. The fastest Spec Miata time at PR is like a 1:39.3 The power to weight ratio of the Spec Miata is something like 1hp/18lbs (roughly), however the FRS is closer to 1hp/15-16lbs without any mods. I think with some proper sprint/dampers and some wider R-comps this car should be doing 1:37's without touching the engine. |

Did you mess with ride heights throughout the day? Lowering the car that much could make it slower than stock especially with no roll center correction.

Ishii: I see a go-pro in those pics. Do you have video of those 17 laps?

Pacific Raceways? Is this the one in Auburn/Kent? How can you track a car there? I took my Legacy GT at PGP Motorsports Park a few years ago but that park is closed for lapping days now.
