Question XForce Varex Exhaust Install Questions

Hey Everyone, seems like there's some experience here with these exhausts though I can't find much actual information from the owners I've seen on here.

I've ordered the XForce 2.5" valved catback and curious if anyone has hardwired this kit.

Really don't want to run the cable all the way up to my cigarette lighter plug -- figure I can tap off of the AMP signal cable in my trunk or some other accessory-on wire in that area.

EEEEEE ........GAD!

For $1400., it ought to include instructions!

I reckon you are going to have to run a wire from the drivers seat to the unit anyway, it might as well be the wire that powers it.

Unless, you're gonna have the trunk monkey activate it -

(never mind me - its past time fer ma nap - )

I haven't installed one before but I'd be tempted to get an appropriate inline fuse and run it straight to the battery though

I would be keen to hear how it sounds both open and closed once installed tho.

Wow I completely forgot about this post.. ended up getting a ticket the day after before I'd installed the valved system so I've been a bit busy

If I remember to, I'll follow up with a video on the sound.

Ultimately, it sounds great in both modes but fitment is atrocious. The mid-pipe is maybe a few inches too long so everything is pushed out of whack and causes the muffler to shift on the hangers, rubbing on the undercarriage somewhere and creating this awful humming noise.

The exhaust doesn't come with a hard-wiring kit, it's sold as an additional $30 kit (bulls**** in my opinion). You also need to pick up your own 3-position momentary switch and the relevant wire-ends to wire it to. Their harness is only the plug that connects to the exhaust, a fuse tap and a bunch of extra wire length.

I've yet to get around to actually doing it since the physical install was such a PITA and their wiring diagrams / electrical info are non-existent. Their support is useless.

I'd return it but at this point I need a valved system and don't feel like taking it off the car, I can make due with what I have.

I do not recommend this exhaust or products from this company. Seems like for about the same price, you can get another brand.

It did come with instructions (basic, coverall info). Ultimately, it was as simple as any normal exhaust install, wiring aside.
The included cigarette lighter plug was easy enough to get installed and the exhaust functions with a key fob.

My initial post was written on the assumption that they'd include the hardwiring items (fuse-tap, un-finished wire) but they didn't and that's what I would've been looking for instructions on.

When I asked support for their documentation on how to hard wire it (assuming they had a "best practice", vehicle-specific guide), they sent me a few YouTube links to random Aussie dudes that had done it to their Chevys.

DAMD - back in the day, all one had to do was figure out where to cut into the exhaust pipe and where to mount the cable -

The FIT is atrocious. We don't describe how suits fitment. The part is the fitment. The fitment fits.

Tailor: How's the fitment across your shoulders?
Me: Oh, fuck it.

Yeah I considered going that route but was a bit impatient with waiting for a shop to get it together around here. Can't really trust any one with that kind of work near me.
Was able to get the hardwire switch installed last night. This thread inspired me MUCH cleaner this way rather than the stupid keyfob.

Fair enough, shit barely fits. Took some coercion to get into place. If the flex portion of the mid-pipe was maybe 2 inches shorter it would have been perfect.

To address the straight to the battery, that was my first though and although they include the eyelet ends on the hardwiring kit, their instructions specifically say not to connect it to the battery as a constant connection could cause damage. Maybe if you still use the keyfob receiver this applies?

With a button inline controlling power I suppose it would be fine but I went with a fuse-tap and plugged it into fuse 6 on the driver-side fuse panel. It's unused stock but only powers on ignition / accessory.

Is that a cover for the switch? Looks factory! Nice!

Thanks! Yup, just a dual position momentary switch from Autozone, fit quite well with some convincing.
