Well, that's assuming he blows it all along the way. If I'm making $2M an hour, I don't think it would take me 45 years to accumulate wealth. Maybe not Musk level wealth, but enough it wouldn't matter.

Almost like having extra money allows someone to use it to make more or something...

One 4 hour day and I'd be more than good. Ok, maybe 8.

What's up?

Yea, might as well work out the day and have a little cushion.

This is why I would never become Musk level rich by the way. Somewhere along the line I'd be the guy that says "Yea, that's enough, cashing out".

Not that building rockets and electric cars isn't cool and all, but I mean...

Of course, that's also why I'll never have that choice, since I don't have the drive/ideas to have gotten me there. Too risk adverse.

I've from several people that while many of us bitch & moan about having to work, lots of retirees end up missing work (or the drive that work gives you) and either falling into questionable life hygiene, or finding a way back to work.

I'd also cash out after a day at 2M$/hour, but part of me wonders how quickly I'd be bored and would want to try stuff. Like building rockets

That's value in shares that aren't actualized though.

I always think about Bezos and how he's changed everything we do in terms of how many of us shop and how easy it is to see the value in that.

Musk has also done incredible things but I'm not sure they're as tangible and as far reaching to us general masses.

Not much... Same old routine... Have been itching to get another motor but keep reminding myself that I use what I have. Alpine A290 looks very interesting, will take trip to my local Alpine showroom and who knows, put my name down..

Amazon need to slow down a wee bit... Give their staff a bit of a break.. I 'm not mega desperate to have something ordered via Amazon to appear the next day.. if I want something really quickly rather go to a shop..

I think that as you move up the pay grade or wealth scale the further you get removed from what you actually enjoyed.. With higher pay grades you become a people manager and not actually doing the job that you enjoyed.. And with mega wealth, you can do anything you wish but no chase, no anticipation of saving and wonderment before you can afford something that so desired..

Not 100% true, at least in the tech field. It's not unusual for non-managers to make as much or more than their managers. You can easily stay on a tech track and make good money.

Sports is another (extreme) example. Very few in "management" make as much as their top players.

But, for a large number of career tracks you are correct.

Reminds me of my 1978 (European round eye) Golf GTI. Loved that car.
