thanks for the input. I was also looking at some posts and ppl are also saying that 17x9 will rub due to excessive camber. Are you speaking from personal experience?

Have searched rocket bunny in this thread and didn't see my specific question so here goes. Looking at RB v2 with Tein Super Racing at 1.4" drop. What's the absolute max contact patch I can get in the rear? Would like to run 305s or even 315s on 18" wheels if possible.

This guys build is epic, and one of the only with super massive wide tires. Read the whole thread. See the huge amount of work that's been done. He's listed all the parts needed. Hope you have a big pile cash.

17x9 +35 RPF1's with 245/40 with camber bolts fit with no problem.
It really depends on a number of factors.
1. Tire, a wide 200tw tire runs wide when compared to a street tire.
2. Every car slightly different.
3. Inside lip/barrel is shaped different for every wheel.
If you are worried, you can buy a pair of 3mm spacers for the front to make them fit like a +35 and go from there. The rears will clear easily. While the fronts will be very tight... we are talking 5mm or less here... not exactly a lot space to work with.

Just have fun with the car, post pics of mods you have made, you can fit 275 front 285 rear on a stock body, a 2jz swap is 20 grand minimum.

Thanks, I think that’s generally good advice! I wasn’t trying to impress with my 2J comment, just explain why I want that much rubber. My “hopefully” refers to my short attention span when it comes to projects as much as anything but you’re right that it’s not cheap either. I think even 20k is quite low for a reliable result. Still, there are a lot slower and less fun cars out there in that price range!

Yeah, might not do it. But then again I might. If life’s about the journey, a project car is way more appealing than rolling up to the dealership and driving off with something.

I'm looking at a set of wheels right now that are 16x7.5'' with an offset of +48.

Would this fit ok? Usually I see 16'' wheels with a lot lower of an offset.

Those will fit, no problems. You could use a 225/50, if you wanted a little more tire.

Thanks. The ad says that the central hub diameter is 61mm, that should be fine right?

I'll probably end up using either a 205 or 215 tire.

If it's for winter tires, then they are better to run narrower, eg. 205. Lugnuts/wheels on ours are lugcentric. It's not must have to have hub bore exactly same. As in same hub bore will ease mounting/centering, but should be safe enough to drive even with wheel bore bigger then stock axle diameter (56.1mm). For ease of mind you can buy spacer rings.
Check though, what nut seat wheels in add have. If they are of most common for aftermarket wheels 60degree conical seat (coincidentally same as stock) you should be ok. If it's flat seat like eg. VW's wheels, you may need to get other lugnuts or adapters.

It would not fit without major modification to have 5++ camber and super stretched tires like 215's up front and 225's in the rear.
