3/19/2020 Meet Location: Velocity Wings (Manassas, VA)
Address: 10090 Dumfries Rd, Manassas, VA 20110

Format: Arrive and hang around from 6:45pm-7:15pm, once a few of us are there, go inside and get a table, eat and hang out. This thread is new for 2020 but this meet has been going since 2013. Check out our old thread [click here]!

Update to this thread. Due to the rapidly developing Coronavirus situation, there will be no second meet in March. We'll simply push back/resume in April pending further developments. Stay safe, wash your hands, be kind

I've been debating it myself. You're actually the first person to inquire as to resuming the meets. The Mid-Atlantic 86 Club has been pretty quiet as of late since meets and autocross have been pretty much cancelled for the rest of 2020. MA86 did their first monthly meet in Maryland and it seems to have gone well and there have been cruises that are easily social distanced so that activity has remained.

I'm happy to set up the meet again but I will likely not be attending fully. I am down to hang out in a parking lot with a mask on, but I'm skipping on dining-in for the remainder of 2020 at the very least.

After the comments today and consulting with the Mid-Atlantic 86 Club admins, we are bringing back the BiWeekly meet. Very similar to the meets of old, the focus has simply shifted to hanging in the parking lot and to practice pandemic precautions. See below for the meet information and the new precautions. Stay safe and see you next month!

New Pandemic Format: Arrive around 6:45pm-7:15pm in the parking lot. Please try to find parking far away from other cars and with room for people to practice social distancing. Please wear a mask and be respectful of people's personal space since everyone has different levels of comfortability during the pandemic. Unlike our previous meets these are focused on hanging out outdoors and not dining. If you wish to dine with other enthusiasts you may choose to grab takeout (e.g. picnic style) or choose to patronize establishments close by. These options are up to the individuals attending and are not officially part of the meet. Previous meets typically would last 2-3 hours depending on attendance and weather. For a link to our old thread click here.

Thanks for the huge turnout last night (35+ cars)! Thank you to those that wore masks, we had about 90% compliance but people seemed to respect each other’s preferences.

Due to an unforeseen lighting issue at The Block we relocated so hopefully everyone made it to the new spot.
