18x9 18x10 6UL @ 949 Racing

Coming this Summer

We'll start taking pre-orders in April. Wheels shipping in July.
There will be a fat discount for early orders. Details TBA
These are all new wheels, designed and engineered in our California office, made in Taiwan.

Tilt cast (not gravity or low pressure)
Flow formed
40% higher load rating than VIA standard for the 86
mid 19 lb range for the 18x9, mid 20 lb range for the 18x10
Knurled bead
Anvil rear flange design for greater bend resistance
Clearance for Wilwood Superlite 328mm BBK on 18x9. More on 18x10
We ran 18x10 +40with 265/35's on our record setting time trial build "Blub" with 15mm spacers in front, 5mm in rear and it was perfect. No fender roll, no rubbing. So this set up will allow you to rotate tires with just a 10mm spacer on front.

For fans of our previous generation 17x8 and 17x9, yes we have 17's coming towards the end of the year.
For GR86 owners, our similar Coto design will be offered in the right offsets for the platform. Same basic spoke pattern as the 6UL but without the lip.

18x9 +35 for the 1st gen
18x10 +35 for the 1st gen

GR86 requires just enough more offset to need a different set of tooling so those wheel will be the Coto design later this year.

Questions?

Nickel

Beskar

Bronze

Pic of Blub, our record setting TT build from a few years ago. These were 18x10 +40 with 15mm front and 5mm rear spacers. 265/35 Goodyear Supercars 3R and our race alignment spec. This is why we're doing our 6UL in 18x10. It's the ultimate track set up.

TBD. Rough prices on the site although they could change. Pre orders will get a huge discount when we launch in a month or so.

Can you PM me the discount. I am getting upset with the vendor who I ordered my Hypergrams from. If they don't ship I might just go for your 18x9

Shoot us an email info@949racing.com or call. We aren't able to keep track of all the dm's pm's and messaging apps

Keep in mind, these are not for sale quite yet. Just letting folks know they will be in the next month or so, since it's a new size for us and new design.

After a few discussions here about the nature of perception of what "bronze" is on a wheel, we decided to give this finish a new name. Spice.

Here is production finishes on our 17x9 wheel for the ND MX5. The FT86 6UL wheel will be a bit more concave. The GR86 needs a bit higher offset so it will be our Coto design coming late this year.

Top and bottom pic is direct sunlight. Notice how the light catches the metallic flakes in Spice so it pops. Middle pic is in shade so its a softer and more muted tone. We dig it.

New color is quite nice. Also following for 17x9.

18's will come first as that's the more popular size across all platforms. 17's will follow later. The 86 community hasn't gotten fully onboard with 18's being faster, which they are. 17" tires cost a bit less that 18's, which is a factor for some folks. We're making some forged prototypes to show. The tilt cast-flow formed 18x9, 18x10 production wheels should be shipping Q1 of 2025

Rather bold statement. And overly generic.

If 18's were always faster then that's what people would be running when they win SCCA Solo nationals. But they don't. For the most part in autocross with Twins, you don't run 18's unless you have to because you need extra tire width that isn't available in 17" sizes.

We're referring more to track use where a bit if extra power is usually available. Never one to shy away from a bold opinion, we'll stand by that; 18's are faster. This based on quite a bit of testing and track time. But yes, 17's allow a slightly wider choice of tire models and cost less.
