Someone keyed my windshield

I was out in San Jose last night with some friends and came back to my car with a long scratch on my windshield. Looks like someone keyed it or used a knife.
Doesn’t feel like a deep cut. Can this be repaired? or would I have to get the whole windshield replaced? I have Geico comprehensive but a $1k deductible.
Thankfully the body of the car is intact and they only touched the windshield

really looks like a stress crack to me. very odd way to move to inflict damage.

check with a glass guy, but i'm sure they'll want to replace it.

Did not know stress cracks were a thing with windshields honestly, but after looking it up it could possibly be. Thanks

i only know of it because GM being GM seems to have constant issues with it on all their vehicles.

at the various work vans i've been around, out of 20 chevy express/gmc savana vans, 10 of them will have a crack like that across the windshield..

many people just let it go, it's just a crack in one of the 2 laminated glass panes for the window.

but given where it is and the general drivers seating postion, it would bug the crap out of me until i replaced it!

Replacing the windshield via a third party will more than likely be cheaper than your deductible.

But be sure to check with insurance, as some will cover the cost based on your specific coverage options

My windshield cost me $350 and they only put a 3cm gouge in the A-pillar!

FYI many insurance companies allow you to set a different deductible for glass coverage. Mine is set to $50 for example.
