Cool Engine Flush and Fuel system cleaner. Use or not to use

Has anyone ever had to use them? I know that there are detergents in the oil and gas, contemplating using it as cheap insurance. Any opinions would be great! thank you

Insurance against what? What are you afraid is in the engine that shouldn't be?

You need to know what problem you're trying to solve before you start trying to fix it, it'll help a lot in guiding yourself towards the right answer

No need, even ones that increase mpg like Lucas fuel treatment (I have tested it and can get 1-2 mpg more), the added cost evens out the with the added mileage. So no real savings.

Same here, never used those on any of my vehicles. I did however use the odd seafoam treatment once in a while when some of my cars started to show signs of age just to restore gas mileage and clean up internals.

I put a couple teaspoons of Seafoam in the tank of my 2stroke weed whacker, but only the first time I start it up for the season.

Works for carbureted engines. Mostly useless for fuel injection.
