And technically tire pressure. But most people are running sizes within a few % OD of stock. And if the tire is given, we can compare the OD vs section width as well.

On level ground, pinch weld to ground is much easier to get consistent readings vs trying to get a tape measure straight up and down to the fender while being in the middle of the hub.

Wanted to add this to the data.
I have 18x8.5 44et with 245/35/18

These are the wheel tire combo with stock suspension. Seem nice and flush. Will likely tuck in a bit more as the car is lowered, gaining a bit more negative camber.

I have installed Ohlin coilovers 2 days ago. Will be adjusting and lowering more from what Ohlins came as. Waiting for them to settle. Will follow up with images when lowered, corner balanced and aligned.

PS: This is my first Subaru. I had high expectations, and mostly it has been surpassed. However, installing the new coilovers, I noticed that the stock rear control arm is literally junk. This thing was warping with torque application, what a shame. I will be looking to replace this piece with an aluminum one. Subaru, not Toyota, also has the front lower control arm made of aluminum vs the same thin steel junk in the GR86. One less thing to worry. If you guys get the GR86, look into swapping with the BRZ aluminum piece. Savagegeese mentions this in his YouTube video as well.

Welcome to the club, hope you enjoy the car even more as time goes by!

You've probably meant the knuckle, not a control arm?

That looks literally perfect to me. Looks flush enough but it looks like it still tucks in behind the fender edge so there’s no rubbing even at full deflection? I don’t understand why people want more aggressive offsets than this.

7.5 ET48 —> 8.5 ET44 = -16.5mm fender clearance. I expected to need roughly 10-15mm spacers to get the stock wheels where I want them, so your setup is pretty much exactly there.

Corrected:

Original wheel is 18x7.5 et48, yes!

No he is correct, the original wheel is 18x7.5.

3min20sec into this video;

That fitment looks perfect, was waiting for someone to fit a 8.5j with an ET in the 40s based on what's been done so far.

Its nice to see the stock wheels have pockets so bolt on spacers should clear if the nuts protrude more than the face of the spacer.

Sorry, my mistake. The original US spec 2022 BRZ Limited has 18x7.5 wheels. I had missed the fraction 1/2

Because once the car is lowered, they are going to be more tucked than a '73 Gran Torino?

My Gen 1, with appropriate camber for the tires (so like -3.5 fr -2.8 rear), with 18x9.5 ET 38 255/35 weren't flush. They still tucked in a touch at the top. But it looked mean.

Im aware, true flush fitment doesn’t work anyway, especially when lowered. You need ~5-10mm (depending on the wheelarch geometry) of tuck to clear the wheel arch on compression.

i had that 17x8 35 rpf1 on my gen 1 and agree that it looks great. only small issue is that you have tomget the convex instead of concave face.

Please update with Ohlins impression, when available - I'm looking to get the road & track soon, too. Just got the car Monday, need to finish break in.

Cheers,
Colin

P245/45WR17 on on 7.5" x 17" stock "Premium"????

My question is: Will PRIMACY MXM4 - SIZE: 245/45R17 the wonderfull drifting tire or most other 245 wide tires fit the stock 7.5 x 17 wheels?

I like the Primacy's. I intend to drive them until they are slicks. I have no prob losing traction with them unless I want them to.

So, can I squeeze 245s onto the 7.5 wide 17" wheel? If not, how about 235s?

I want to use the stock 7.5x17 wheel.

The stock tires are Primacy HP, not Primacy MXM4. There’s a big difference, the HPs are much better.
