A modern body shop can put things back to within microns of factory spec. There are cars that come off the line that are not within microns of factory spec. I am not "sugar coating" anything. Every car that get banged up is not a total loss and can be repaired as good as new. If you had a bad repair and accepted it that is on you and does not condemn the whole repair industry that fixes hundreds of thousands of cars with zero issues.

Never heard if a car going on the rack still be the same car it was. He smirked at my comments because it wasn't what he wanted to hear

Also I'm surprised the insurance company would recommend the rack. The frame has been kinked and now lost its integrity of its design. Not really safe
Too bad for you man...

How can you order an OEM color paint? Straight from the factory? Cause i think body shops are using aftermarket paints.

You can't (I was going to mention that anyway) since they are made for a very specific application system. The after market paints are actually better anyway since they are exempt for the VOC environmental requirements that the OEM are covered by.
They can also be colour matched better than the OEM paint could (I know that sounds counter intuitive) since they can be adjusted for age and wear. White is just the hardest to match because there is really no pigments to hid any differences.

I have little doubt that at this point in time even if a car was perfect you would not feel it was because your bias is obviously so deep set.

I take every reply very serious. Even the ones i "dont want to hear". Especially when it comes to my vehicle. My mothers 2011 yaris was involved in a collision and "put on a rack. And it came out perfect (from what i see) it drives perfect and does not pull to any sides and i feel confident saying it drives like before. The tires wear out evenly, have been for years. I just wasnt sure after the rack, people would still track and use their cars for autox. But apparently people rescue damaged cars and dedicate them for motorsports. Im sure it depends on the quality of the work, machines, and dedication of the techs. Im sure like everything else there are horror stories out their because of bad experiences. But i wanted reassurance ofcourse, that my car could be saved for its intended purpose. I wasnt sure if a unibody received an impact, that it would still be rigid and ok for a track. But assuming the repairs are done correctly and the unibody is within specs, im sure there are ways to reinforce the chassis and make it formidable for track use.

Oh wow i only assumed i could order oem paint!! Did not know it had to be aftermarket! Well the colour matching isnt my primary concern... Most important thing would be just returning the chassis to its proper state. And im sure a body shop could do a proper paint job. Again thank you everybody for the input!

We can be very thorough on a topic. That is up to the point where a thread degenerates into a discussion on the dietary requirements and mating rituals of the white bellied aardvark or some weird thing like that. Then you know we have exhausted the actual topic material.
