I spec'd out a 2 door bronco with the lower Black Diamond trim and the 2.3L with manual transmission and it came up to $43k. It's a very tempting think to get plus if I can keep the manual trans going, I'll do it.

I did too lol. Then I saw 40k+ and decided I'll keep my $500 xterra.

I don't even have a rig to begin with. I was looking at the TRX4 Sport since I want more of a crawler vs trail runner.

On the other side, I was also looking at the SCX24 or some 1/10 drift car (pretty sure I can use a crawler or trail truck more than a drift car tho).

Crawler, of all my RC’s it’s what I use the most. There is the crazy world of 1/10 scale crawlers based on the modeling forum you would totally dig.

What's the current situation with wait list for these? Still going to be well into 2022?

If you are talking the R/C, no idea.

If you are talking the 1:1 scale, then yea, looks like it could be into 2022. In fact the FAQ on the site (you have to start the reservation process to see it) says it's possible you would end up with the "next model year" depending on your configuration and selection.

Due to the high number of Bronco two- and four-door reservations, deliveries are expected to extend into the 2022 Model Year. These customers can expect new roof options, exterior paint colors, vehicle options, and special editions to be made available. The customers reservation timestamp will remain with their order for scheduling priority in 22MY.
That said, if you are willing to "compromise" dealers are likely to have some on-hand that are not reserved, or reservations will get cancelled.
