spcmafia 18 BRZ

Figured I might make a journal at this point before it becomes a bit difficult remembering what mods I have installed.
Let me get you all to speed about the journey. My first car used to be a Mazda 3, 2013 iGT 2.0. Great car, amazing gas mileage, handling, but lacking severely on power. April of 2020 is when I decided to pull the trigger and traded it on Carvana for the BRZ. Ever since I had a memory, I have been a car enthusiast but it was always watching from the background type of love for cars. The only place I could fantasize about the dream build was playing Need for Speed. Which is for some of us the only place where we can afford all the car parts we would like. Purchasing the BRZ, though is no R32, M3 E30, Silvia, is a good first step. Something that has helped on this journey is, I guess, my ability to pick up rather quickly on mechanic skills. So far, every single modification on the vehicle I have been able to install myself, it is the only way to learn. So far, I could not be more satisfied with this car, even though the boss lady does not fully embrace it, yet.

Current Mod list:
Engine/Transmission/Exhaust
  • · K&N Drop Air Filter
  • · Perrin Inlet Tube
  • · Raceseng Crank, Alternator, Water pulleys
  • · Perrin Rear shifter bushing
  • · JDL UEL Catted Headers
  • · Motiv Over Pipe and Front Pipe (Uncatted) combo
  • · Apexi N1 Evo Extreme Catback (Dual Exit)
  • · OFT Stage 2 tune Steve99
  • JDM Exhaust Hangers (6)
  • Verus Engineering Clutch Fork and Pivot
  • Revised OEM TOB
  • Schaeffler Clutch Slave Cylinder
  • Whiteline Transmission Mount
  • GrimmSpeed Front Strut Bar
  • 86Speed Gas Hood Shocks
  • RACERX Oil Catch Can
Interior
  • · Diode Dynamics White LED Dome light.(SMD12)
  • · Diode Dynamics Red LED Door Light (SMD12)
  • Raceseng Sphereology Shift Knob
Exterior
  • · Bayson R CS Style Side Skirts
  • Bayson R CS Style Front Lip
  • Bayson R CS Style Rear Aprons
  • True Focus Fab Rear Bash Bar
  • LED lights replacement for Rear backup light housing removal.
  • Diode Dynamics White LED Rear License Plate (HP5)
  • Aishun Dtouch Racing Side window louvers (4-6-2021)
  • SARD Style FRP Wing

  • AVID1 AV20 17s Wheels
  • Michellin Pilot Sports A/S 4 225/45R17 (2/1/2022)
  • Bilstein B14 Coilovers
Vehicle Maintenance
Just like modifications, I have performed all vehicle maintenance, except for tire rotation/alignment/balancing.
  • · 13K Miles: Vehicle was purchased with indicated mileage. Decided to get rid of the cheap Car Quest filter and possibly cheap engine oil. For this I used Motul 0W-20 and OEM Subaru Filter.
  • · 13K Miles: Replaced Transmission and Differential fluids with Motul Gear oil.
  • · 20K Miles: Oil change (Motul 0w-20, OEM Filter) .Tire Rotation (Brought to local tire center). Headunit updated.
  • · Fumoto Oil Drain Valve Installed.
  • 26K Miles: Oil Change (Motul 0W-20, OEM Filter).
  • 31K Miles: Oil Change, OEM Filter with Castrol Edge 0W-20 Full Synthetic, and Tire Rotation.
  • 37K Miles: Oil Change, OEM Filter with Castrol Edge 0w-20 Full Synthetic.
  • 43K Miles: Oil Change, K&N Filter with AMSOIL 0W-20 Full Synthetic.
  • 46K Miles: Transmission and Differential Oil, going with AMSOIL for both.
  • 50K Miles: Engine Oil Change, MOTUL 0W-20, OEM Filter
Vehicle Care
Under my ownership, this vehicle has not seen a single drive in car wash that uses brushes. I have been using touchless washes for the winter season.
  • · Turtle Wax/ Adams Graphene Wax
  • · Chemical Guys Mr. Pink
  • · Meguiars Interior/leather Dressing.
  • · Meguiars Clay bars
  • · Meguiars Sealant 2.0 Mirror Glaze
  • Updated Ownership as of 2023. Since 2020 the vehicle has gotten detailed at least once a year. I do it all myself ( Refer to Page 4 for results)

The next project is looking like better wheels and tires. Very excited about tracking the car at least one time. Originally my goal was to just showcase the car since, remember, you don't track the daily.

Super clean looking despite the monster truck wheel gaps.

This is why I don't have a build thread, my car is a shitbox.

Don't remind me about those gaps haha. I don't think I could lower that car anymore because of how awful roads are where I live. I settled with at least having the tires flush to the body lines with the spacers.

I feel is only right to report this on the journal because I consider myself an honest person. I'm using this journal as a tool to record every modification/event this vehicle has partaken into for future plans such as a sale. Friday, March 12, 2021, my vehicle was damaged by a truck on the parking lot of my workplace. As what you can see on the photos below, the damage was pretty much the front bumper cover, with a small indent on the driver side front fender. The guy and his truck managed to clip the bumper just right with what I assume is tire or rear sensors, ripping the whole front bumper assembly. It can also be observed that the structural integrity of the car was untouched, by this I mean the front bash bar and frame. These vehicles have a fitting issue with the front bumper, so if anything, this comes as a blessing in disguise since a new bumper will mean new bumper clips and all pieces involved. Is just one of those things that as much as it sucks, at least it can be considered that things could've been much worse. I will update once the vehicle is out of the shop.

Initial estimate just came in. Should have the vehicle back on 3-25-2021. Came to about $1600 in repairs. Front Bumper is getting replaced, Driver side markers, and driver side front fender. I'm hoping the shop can salvage my front lip, even thought it's cheap, it's a pain to install and I'm not looking forward to that again.
