Tatra. And where are they?

Once you've driven a real MR car in the snow, you will not really care about a few inches here or there when the engine is up front.

I consider the twins to be of the "just enough weight over the front axle to keep it down" configuration.

Mid-Front, Positraction, I don't care how it works, it just does.

But for fun here are my cars on the same scales. 86 has rear trim, jack, seats, spare tire, etc removed. Porsche had front trim, and compressor in the frunk removed.

Nope, there's space in the engine bay for it to be further back.

Front-mid, rear-drive setup can have a center-of-drivetrain mass that is more mid than mid engine cars; we often look at the engine and transmission only, but there is a driveshaft and differential that make the average weight closer to the center, but the caveat with front-mid is there is less weight over the rear wheels and/or there is more polar weight or the steering is heavier.

Thanks a lot mate, very interesting reading. Especially the lineage back to the S800 and the FR layout with a boxer engine, I never knew that. It really was designed as an enthusiast’s car. Ended up bookmarking the page.
