Yea perfectly understandable. I wouldn't worry about the numbers at all in that case, so long as the car feels improved.

So I am finally getting around to doing the comparison of the Grimmspeed intake and Perrin inlet tube + drop-in filter on my BRZ. I did the dyno pulls for the Grimmspeed setup today and it made 190hp/154tq corrected. I will go back in a couple weeks with the new Perrin inlet tube (I ordered the 2017 specific one) and Blitz drop-in filter in the stock airbox. We recorded the weather correction factor for today's pulls, so we can set the dyno to use the same correction when we do the stock/Perrin/drop-in setup.

Looking back at the dyno pulls from this original thread, the uncorrected numbers were still the same. However, I also had a different exhaust on at that time (probably won't make a difference, but still).

Once I get the next pulls done I will post the results and graphs in a new thread.

Once I get this test done, it is Ace header testing after Solo Nationals

I'm super pumped to read this! I was hoping you would do a test and review but I wasn't gonna say anything... lol. I'm starting my list for off-season purchases for my move to STX next season and I have a blank spot for the header

Did you ever go and get the test results between the grimmspeed and the combo (blitz filter, Perrin tube, 17 stock) box. Its what I have on my car just wondering if its worth it to go aftermarket for intake grimspeed ect.

I know most people will say its not worth it but I'd be willing to pay $300 for even a small 5hp gain. Every ounce of HP is worth it to me on these lightweight cars.

I'm getting tuned next week with Grimmspeed Intake, JDL Catted UEL Headers, Front/Over Catted/Resonated Combo Pipe, and Perrin 2.5 Resonated. I'll be doing a baseline which will only have the Grimmspeed and Perrin installed, and then the final runs with JDL parts on. I can share the results if you are interested. Unfortunately won't have a baseline without the grimmspeed though . Let me know if you're interested.

Any dynos that can be posted to the forums will be useful for someone.

But yeah I am specifically looking for stockish intake(filter, tube) on the 17+ cars vs full aftermarket.

I did, but it turned out to be not very conclusive of a test, so I didn't share the details. I had to redo both tests and the Grimmspeed ended up making less power than the stock box/Blitz/Perrin setup.

I don't remember what it was, but I didn't feel it was as close of a comparison as I could have done and just ran out of time. I have been running the stock box/Blitz/Perrin setup full time since.

Now that some time has passed, anyone concluded that the airbox on 2017 maybe more efficient? Putting one on the pre 2017 cars would help any?

Cheers,

Lutfy

I put one in a MY13, other than making filter changes easier I wouldn't say it made much of a difference.
