Good to find links for this stuff, I'm sure I'll need it. I used the toothpick trick as well, if you build it up enough and have a very steady hand you can also use a razor blade to shave it down level and then just polish it.

Check out DrColorChip.com. Factory OEM paint and it comes with a kit with amazing results. I've purchased kits from them in the past for other cars I've had and it does an amazing job if you want to touch up your paint correctly.

I got a huge ding in my roof that went down to the metal and touched it up with Dr. ColorChip and it came out amazing. I painted it last weekend. Highly recommended.

I picked some up from the Subaru dealership. Had a nasty chip about 1/4" diameter on the tip of the "fang". so far just put on the base coat, its pretty cold out so it wasn't drying fast, 100% better. From 10 feet away you can't even tell it was chipped. I got to fire up the wood stove in the shop and finish it off though.

What a retarded dealership. The paint code is on the left door placard.

My Subaru dealer sent me to their preferred repairer who made me up a nail polish remover style bottle of o2c (WRB blue) for $10 in less than 5 mins.

Ideally you need to fill the chip in with one step bondo, if you just put paint in the chip the paint will shrink, chip out, and you'll never be able to fill in that chip with just paint. When you apply the paint, over apply, allow to dry, sand with 2500, then lightly polish the sanding. This will look so much better and last much longer that paint alone.

Cheers,
GREG

Only had my car for 3 days and my friend bangs the passenger door right into a wall.. wtf! Anyway, was able to find Whiteout touchup paint from the new Subaru Dealership in Torrance in case anyone needs!
Paid $20.22 - Comes with base coat and top coat. Will probably do a clear coat as well.

Just watched a couple of negative youtube videos about Dr ColorChip paints and durability. Apparently you have to re apply over and over as the paint doesnt hold beyond 6 months time... anyone else who has used it see this issue? There are other glowing videos about the application and the immediate look after, but if it doesnt hold, I dont want to maintain chip repairs every 3-6 months?! Please advise...

Hm...got a small scratch/chip on my rear bumper today. Went to dealership to buy some touchup paint, but mine only came in 1 bottle, and doesn't say base coat/top coat on the bottle, it just says touch-up paint? Because it was a scrape, some of the paint was "pushed up", so it's noto smooth. I'm getting car detailed next week and opti-coated, will the polishing compound help smooth it out a bit?

The detailer should be able to improve the appearance of the paint. I've had my detailer touch up a few of my parking scrapes and he compounded them after. Can't even tell they happened.
