Been getting some strange behavior at wide open throttle, it seems like right when full boost is reached my RPMS hang for a second before the engine speed begins to climb. Almost like hitting a soft rev limiter where ignition isn't cut, but doesn't increase. It does this for a split second and then carries on as normal. Tuner says I've maxed out the MAP sensor, also I'm hitting 90% duty cycle on the stock PIs. Anyone ever experienced this? Looks like I'll be going flex-fuel sooner than I thought :-).

At long last, installed RSR Superdowns, Enkei RPF1s wrapped in Conti Extreme Contact DWs, SPC Rear LCAs and SPC camber bolts. Also did some boost and exhaust leak testing for good measure, everything went okay except for my alignment.

No clue what the guy that had the before me was thinking. https://s17.postimg.org/71txrd4rj/banda.jpg So this is my before and after. My appointment was at 5:30 with the shop closing at 6. The guy made it very obvious that he was not happy about my car having to go on the rack and didn't hide it. Come to find out he did my alignment with my old wheels and tires in the back of the car. This guy must have had no clue what he was doing, my eyeball alignment was better with the exception of front toe. I am going to demand that they re-do my car, to me this is unacceptable. From what I have been told by countless people with firsthand experience, I should be able to be at -1.5ish Camber F/-2.5 Camber R with 0 Toe F & R. https://s14.postimg.org/hukya0lc1/alignment.jpg The car is super darty with the rear toe out and the turn in is ridiculously quick, not in a good way. On a brighter note, I am ecstatic with the new Conti ECDW's...my old Nitto NeoGens were getting lit up all of the time and I could not put any power down in first gear and if it were cold enough I could not hook up in 2nd either. They are extremely quiet and have a very refined nature. I haven't done much cornering or hard driving yet but I am enjoying the surprisingly compliant feel of the RSR springs. I was worried that they would be jarring and bumpy feeling but they are well matched to the stock dampers and I say with complete confidence that the car is considerably more comfortable than it was before this Saturday. In other news, my tuner turned the boost down a little because I was maxing out my MAP sensor and also hit 90% PI duty cycle in a 3rd gear log. No longer breaking up and running smooth. I really want to pick up a new MAP sensor to get that extra bit of kick back...but my sensible side is telling me to wait until I'm ready to jump to flex-fuel to do so being that I'm taxing the factory fuel system. |

Got another alignment today:
-1.8 FL Camber////-1.9 FR Camber -0.08 FL Toe////-.07 FR Toe -2.0 RL Camber////-2.1 RR Camber 0.12 RL Toe////0.08 RR Toe Car has loads more grip and feels exponentially more stable in pretty much every situation. Should I be worried about the amount of Toe in that I have in the rear in regard to tire wear? I requested 0.05-0.08 Toe in Rear. |

Update: Had the car re-tuned a couple of months ago by Bob Richards (Circuit Motorsports). Put down 289/225 on a Mustang dyno. I was told stockers read at 156 or so on these particular rollers, so I should be a **** hair or two above 300. It was a bit of a stressful and rushed situation towards the end. Bob started street tuning the car at 11 AM and we visited King's Performance around 3 to use their dyno. There was a guy with a Cayman waiting to get tuned and by 9 PMish both him, his tuner, and the shop owner pretty much told us we had to wrap it up. The Porsche owner had driven up from Ft Myers...much further than I had traveled so it was the right thing to do.
Pretty happy with the end result with the exception of the 3,500-4,000 area was absolute shit and the graph reflects it. Fortunately, Bob cleaned it up remotely and it feels better now. Part throttle is still meh. I may go visit a Nissan guy that has a dynojet near me to see how things look after Bob's revisions...but I don't really give a shit about numbers so we'll see. Right now I'm completely satisfied with how she feels. Newborn keeping me busy too so trips to the dyno will be hard to come by for awhile. Last edited by Amputechture; 07-13-2017 at 10:45 AM. |

Tuned last week by James/HRI. My drive-ability was absolute shit on Circuit's tune, fuel trims all over the place. Feels like an entirely different car now...I'm making some real torque now and need a clutch pronto. Have an Exedy Stage 1 on the way.

Replaced the old journal bearing precision for a GT2860RS. Loving it.
