as for the rest of your post...
IIRC, I believe those are where you insert a tool to hold the pulley in one place while doing the timing/undoing the crank-bolt. Could be wrong, though.

I can't say you're wrong, but I haven't seen a pulley with an arrangement like that. I've seen plenty of pulleys with holes to inset a holding tool but the holes were always on opposite sides.

Nope, they're balancing hole. They drill out some metal on the damper to subtract weight at specific locations to balance it.

Nothing should be damaged or bent under normal driving conditions.

Gotcha. And sorry for the question. Not an expert with mechanics of a car, so unsure if these modifications alluded to by some of the earlier posters might affect structural integrity.

Battery says 55d23r, Google searching gives 60Ah ~525 CCA wet plate design. Must be hefty :O AGM batteries with half the capacity are over 20 pounds.

Want to know a secret?

Want a lightweight battery you can palm in one hand? (if you don't have small hands )

Want to pay less than $40?

Don't laugh.

I use these in my WRX that I race in SCCA RallyCross. They weigh 17lbs, 23lbs LESS than what a full group 35 battery weighs. The U1R has about 270-300CCA which is enough for a small 4 cyl engine. I've even started the car in the winter with one of these. And the best part is that at less than $40 (even better when on sale) I can go through 3 of these for the price of a new full size.

Run the light L&G battery in the summer and put the stock one on a tender for the winter.

Why take it out for winter? Mine had no trouble starting the car every day for two years before I swapped it out for other reasons.

Depends on the area. As above, I got it to turn my WRX over in the middle of winter without a problem. But if it's an area with constant sub zero temps, a larger battery might not be a bad idea.

Though a battery warmer would solve that too. And if someone's in an area with temps like that, they might well have a battery and block warmer anyways.

But yeah, Braille doesn't want you to know about the L&G batteries.

That's why I spoke up. Today is pretty warm for this time of year, it's -3 right now.
