Found footage films.

Am I the only fan of them? Went to car meet today. Had few Mustangs, 3 Camaros, 1 hell cat, like 3 Acuras, 2 Civics and a BRZ. I was only FR-S.

Anyway, we started discussing movies. Next thing you know, we mention Paranormal Activity and how two of us (some girl in a Camaro and I) were excited over it. Regular horror movies besides stuff like The Exorcist and Nightmare on Elm Street (original), don't scare us anymore.

So, I popped out my Netflix on phone and we watched Creep. 9/10 very good movie and now I have a date for Halloweenie to watch like 4-5 found footage films with her in our cars! Yeah I'm a hopeless romantic.

Anyway, what are some you guys recommend?

I'm a fan of these too. Most of them are cheesy and stupid but I like the style. Favorites are probably paranormal activity and blair witch. I'll check out creep.

some others:
-unfriended
-quarantine
-troll hunter
-europa report
-chronicle
-project almanac

The evil dead trilogy...

The Evil Dead (1981) low budget, but good.
The Evil Dead II (1987) Never understood this one...like a re-make of the 1st one, injected with some comedy.
Army of Darkness (1992) My favorite of the 3, and a riot to watch, but you won't "get" it unless you've seen the other 2.
There was a re-make of Evil Dead in 2013.

The Prince of Darkness (1987) It was part of a series written by John Carpenter. The series started with The Thing (1982), and ending with In the Mouth of Madness (1995). P.o.D. was not well received, but is worth a watch if you're a horror buff.

The only one I ever liked was Cloverfield. Most others were meh.

I'm not a fan of found footage films.

The whole-POV-slow-pan-across-a-dark-room into a jump-scare thing gets tired after the 50th time.

Sorry...I was unfamiliar with the term "found footage", and posted some of my "horror" picks.

Here's a link to check out if you haven't stumbled across this page yet...

Only interested in the follow up story with the girl. 😗

Btw happy back to the future day! Back on the topic, I don't like this type of movie unless it's only used in very few segment of the movie. (the only exception is clover field... & maybe 2014 Godzilla? Somehow the way the camera moved in new Godzilla is like this kind of movie)

Lol ill pm you tomorrow. Going to mini drive with her on hills.

So far I have :

Chronicle
The houses October built
Rec aka Quarantine
Troll Hunter and maybe one more.

I know these type of films get tiring but im not sick of them yet. They only thing that comes near to scaring me like when I was a child or like when CHP flashes lights behind you and honks for you to get out of their way are these films. Love em.

Chronicle and Troll Hunter aren't actually horror genre. They're just really damn good found footage films.

Without trying to act like a badass....do people really consider quarantine a horror movie? I know it was marketed as one but I honestly found it so corny and predictable that I spent most of the movie laughing.

I do have trouble taking horror movies seriously, I'm probably too cynical and just realize how impossible most of these scenarios are.

My theory about this is that the horror things has been so overdone that everyone now expect what is coming up and for some reason, movies/games seem to be fully focused on jump scares instead of creating a creepy atmosphere.

Maybe if they chill on horror flicks for the next several years we could have something great again

You should sit with me and watch a war movie. Even the "accurate/realistic" ones. I spend half the movie yelling "bullshit" at the screen.
