From what I have learned about my BRZ so far, I would imagine it wouldn't be necessary for DD duty, only if you were building for track/autox duty. I am sure the experts will weigh in soon!

Do the shocks have an adjustable spring perch?

So, how do you like the Bilstein B8's? No review's any where for a BRZ with the B8 or B6
And how do they compare to the Koni's? I went with the Koni's as I wanted some adjustability.
Just looking for some comparison.

What I like about the bilsteins over the konis are that they're rebuildable so barring catastrophic failure, you won't have to replace them and you can revalve them to match your particular springs as well as the shocks are shorter yet also have larger diameter pistons so they'll hold up well to lowering springs. OTS they're a bit overdampened, but that can be adjusted by a suspension shop.

Yea, but I've been seeing a lot of koni failures on the boards, like multiple warranty replacements for the same shock. I would have to dig around to find the posts, but I felt more confident in Bilstein than Koni. I imagine it has a lot to do with the springs they're being paired with. If Koni offered shorter shocks maybe?

Hello,

I decided to use RCE Tarmac springs with Koni yellow. Only one thing I've concerned is ride height. I would like to keep close to stock ride height.

Any possibility to raise ride height about 10mm or more with this setup?

If it has to be lowered 20mm, is roll center adjustment required?

Thanks.

This is my favourite article on the pros and cons of each type.

JRZ makes both types in their street series.

No need for roll center adjustment at 20mm.

Only way to get height back would be to use a spacer of some sort.

Not a bad link!

What it comes down to for me....I want good valving. A good twintube is better than a bad monotube. They each have their inherent advantages and disadvantages and for a hardcore motorsports shock I want a monotube. But at the end of the day, I just want the best shock within my budget.
