That may be my friend Jay's old car... I think the guy's name is Nathan? Did it have a "MTAKINA" plate on it?

Thanks for all the suggestions.
Autometric is a quality establishment, and I believe the Pontiac location is their "HQ" (they have several locations in the greater metro area.) They do a lot of work on high-end vehicles so I think you made a good choice.

Does anyone here know if TPMs are a legal requirement in Michigan? I am looking into snow tires and was wondering if I need to budget for new sensors as well.

It is not legal for a tire shop to mount tires on a vehicle without the TPMS if the vehicle came with them. If you have a second set of wheels they will mount the tires to the wheel without the senors.. they just cannot put them on the car.

So if I just buy snow tires and have the shop install them and do a balance/alignment, there shouldn't be a problem with them mounting them?

I do appreciate you answering what may be obvious questions. My old car (FWD) had all seasons and no TPMs. Never had to deal with this before.

I didn't know there were any boosted twins in MI.. That's cool... we have to have another meet and we have to get that guy to show up.

I did a ride-along in a turbo FRS earlier this summer.. but haven't had the chance to experience a supercharged one yet. That would be great!

I'm starting to get frustrated with the motor in our cars. 160ft lbs of torque just isn't enough.. especially with the dip in the 3-4k range. The stupid cricket sounds from the hp fuel pump.. I need to do something with this car.. or get a really big raise so I can trade it in for a new stingray vette.

im with you. Im seriously considering selling the BRZ for something more practical. The Tesla is faster and has 2 more doors but i am looking at something like a VW passat or audi a4 for a DD. Just finding the BRZ is a little hard to live with im sad to say...

Welcome to the darkside!! lol. The reasons listed above and the harsh ride upsetting my wife were the reasons I ended up going with the ST. I love it, much more power and convenience. The interior quality is better then the twins and I can fit real adults in my backseat. If I had a bunch more expendable cash I would have kept the FR-S and turned it into a track car only.

So funny guys I came here thinking of talking to you guys about my thoughts of trading in my BRZ for a WRX hatch or waiting for the new WRX.

I like the BRZ but I feel like I'm giving up to much/compromising for not enough car
It is small and Im very disappointed in the mpgs (one of the reasons I bought it over another WRX) Im only getting 2-3 mpgs over my 07 wrx that has AWD, turbo power and a lot more room.

Im bumming myself out here figured I'd ask what you guys think.

I love the car. I want to want to keep it, but I too am thinking the new WRX may be a better match for me (again). My wife and I took our son for a 25 minute trip to a friends house in the BRZ on Friday, it was an interesting trip with my son in the car seat behind the passenger side, my wife driving and I was sitting in the back behind her because I fit there better than I could in the passenger seat. It has become my summer commuter car to work and back... And that's it... If next season is still weak as far as my autocross attendance, it'll be tough to justify it over a new WRX... Or maybe a 2.0T ATS long term... We'll see. But for now BRZ + autocross is still the plan.
