Drivers competing nationally through this year, what size RS3v2s have you been running with what results?

I'm curious for those that are taking data - Does your car generate more grip to the left than the right? My car consistently produces 0.05G more then turning left than right.

I tend to make more g's turning left as well

but I attribute this to a) better weight distribution for lefts and b) higher confidence knowing that I'm not gonna tap a cone

left turns. better weight distribution and RF generally has more camber than LF.

of course, my car doesn't turn very well in either direction. must be the nut holding the
steering wheel.

FWIW, this data is from the accel(s) in a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 as collected by SoloStorm - my quickest L/R pairs from DC (not flat blacktop) and Wilmington (flat concrete). I don't see any significant L-R differences. (0.05G = 0.49 m/s^2)

Now write a quick script in excel to filter out anything that occurs for less than .25 seconds a time. It would be nice to see a more accurate number for 'sustained' g's.

I see you have a lot of 1.2..ish...data, I see about 1.15 on street tires sustained and 1.35 on race tires.

Well, the data with the line is already 'filtered' by SoloStorm, though I've not seen any detail on what that entails. The unconnected points are presumably the 'raw' data. Also, SoloStorm is a bit inconsistent with the data rate (occassionally 'skips') but most of the points shown are at 0.100 sec intervals. So, if you see 2 or 3 connected, that is >~0.25 sec of data.

Thats about what I expect then, same I see. I never used the export raw data feature in solostorm, I usually just slide through the data until I get to a big sweeper and look at the data their to see how my lateral grip is (assuming Im driving at the limit).

Well, the first round of mods are done and I have a double-header next weekend. Before reading this thread I ended up ordering 215/45/17 R-S3 v2's, sounds like you guys are simply stuffing 245s on there but oh well, too late.

As far alignment I did the Subaru crash bolts and here are the settings we got.

Front:
1/16 Toe Out
-0.9 Camber Drivers Side
-1.2 Camber Passenger Side
I forgot caster but it was .5 off left to right.

Rear:
1/16th Toe In
-1.6 Camber Drivers Side
-1.4 Camber Passenger Side

I then remembered that I can get some extra play out of the top of the sturt by loosening the 3 bolts and jacking up the hub. I took measurements before and after and I was able to gain an extra .2-.3 of negative camber on the front per side. Final camber settings are -1.2 Drivers side and -1.4 Passenger Side. Still on the stock shocks and stock bars.

Question.

Since in Japan, the BRZ Ts comes with the STI performance springs stock. Can I run these on my BRZ in the CS class?

Has anyone figured out what the new Scion FR-S RS 1.0 spring rates will be? This will likely be the clear twin to have next year if it stays in CS.

i can't find anything on the RS 1.0 except for general description. and TRDparts.com does
not have any springs for the FR-S listed.

so for an extra $5 grand you get lowering springs plus all the extra weight from the
appearance package. not sure how much faster it will be. why don't you buy one and
we'll find out?
