Hence my worry about the chirping being a possible indicator of future failures. I bailed on my Mini's before the warranties were up because of this.
Fair enough. I have a replacement high-flow HPFP in my Mazdaspeed 3, and when I made the switch the noise got louder. The pump I got is damn near bulletproof though, and has a near 0% failure rate (a few faulty installs and inevitable manufacturing defects, but otherwise solid). I've heard that about the BMW/VW pumps, though. Especially when you start to add mods to the car and it wants more fuel. Outside changing injectors, I don't think many of the turbo/SC guys are running upgraded fuel systems and they seem to be doing ok. I could be wrong on this, though, just couldn't find anything that said they were replacing the actual pumps.

Also, since I'm on the topic, it's interesting that you don't really see any performance shops or aftermarket companies making any comments on the noise.

Alright so I stopped by my dealer today with the TSB and I have the HPFP on order with all of the corresponding part numbers that were listed in the TSB. They said they would have it next Tuesday... I was a bit surprised because I was expecting at least a two month wait since that's what most people have been waiting. We'll see when I get the call but can anyone verify these part numbers that were written on my service order today that I got from Toyota:

Does anyone have the part numbers listed on their service orders they got from their dealer? I'm trying to see if I'm going to get the same thing or if it's a new pump number.

Thanks.

I could be wrong, but everything I've seen/heard so far is that they're replacing the pumps with the same pump. Seems pretty silly to me, but several users have already had the pump replaced (some cases multiple times) and the noise comes right back. I haven't seen any concrete evidence on whether or not there actually is a new pump being deployed yet, so comparing part numbers is a great idea.

Not sure if this would help with the crickets issue, but it wouldn't hurt to sign:

Had mine replaced 2 weeks ago with the exact same part numbers you listed here.

They do exist, my car hit America a few weeks ago (~January 9th) and I've heard them, if they aren't rolling out of the factory cricket proof no service is going to fix them as of right now (at least I'm not convinced).

Not horrible yet, they add character. I would be fine with them staying this way forever, if they get a lot louder however...

My car hit the shore around November 27th and I received the car the 29th. Definitely not one of the early models and I've got the crickets. Happens sometimes, then other times it doesn't. I'm almost afraid to replace the fuel pump at the dealer only to find out it was a waste of time.

I had heard the crickets sometimes after making a cross-town drive on the first tank in the engine, but after filling the tank back up with 93 octane no ethanol gas, 50 to 60 miles on the tank so far and haven't heard them again.

Okay, I grabbed my invoice for you. I too had mine replaced a few weeks ago. I have the same part numbers listed.
I have nearly 1000 miles since mine was changed. The crickets have not returned.

Chirping since Day1. Chirping stops after 1800miles. Fuel used are 10%ethanol 93,95,97,100 octane.. no more chirps even in super hard driving. IT JUST STOPS!

Had the TSB fix on my BRZ a couple months ago. Crickets are now back, and possibly even louder than before.
