I'd be right there with you on the Gram Lights, because I love the look of them... but they're surprisingly heavy for a company called "Gram Lights", which is unacceptable for their price. I was blown away by the fact that the five-spoke 57pro in a 17 x 7.5 weighs about the same as the stock wheel.

For the price of new Rotas (I won't buy used reps), I can get a nice used set of real Works or Rays. I very rarely buy new wheels. I let someone else take the hit, that way when it comes time for me to sell, I can make my money back (and in some cases, more). Plus as Draco said:

Ive been looking at the CE28s specifically. They weigh less then 16lbs. The Rota equivalent (DPT) weighs 22lbs. Granted, new vs new, a set of DPTs cost just as much as one CE28, Id rather get the CE28s. I just dont have, nor will I spend, $4k on wheels.

I've never had a replica wheel on any of my cars. I've never spent more then $1400 on a set of wheels either. I spent less then $400 on my SSRs. $800 for my Works. The list goes on.

But it doesnt matter, I think Ill end up going with RPF1s for the time being. Im not in love with the way they look, but at ~5lbs less then stock per corner and less then $250 a wheel, Im sold.

Theres just nothing available right now thats within my budget ($2k max) and fits the way I want it to. Im thinking Ill just get the Rotas (or another rep wheel) until something hits the market that I truly want.
<< I love rotas. Rocking a set on the ITR right now in fact :P

Sadly though, the larger rota wheels tend to be heavier. A lb or two isn't that crazy for my 15x7s, but RPF1s at <16lbs for 17x8s vs low 20s (IIRC) for 17x8 slipstreams.....

For sure the TE will be lighter

As for cheap copies, there are only so many ways to make a round object with spokes. Copies happen with the popular well respected brands too.

Buy whatever works for you IMO.

This I will agree with.

I guess Im just turned off by the people that get replica wheels and toss on real center caps or get the real sticker set. Ive seen many Linea Corse Lemans wheels with BBS center caps or Rotas with Work Emotion stickers on them. If its a replica, don't pass it off as the real deal.

Agreed.. and that's not just limited to wheels

I actually never used the stickers on my volks. Don't care if people thought they were fake (actually good in a way). I don't like stickers on wheels in general so if they aren't already installed I never put them on.

19.25lbs actually isn't too bad. I was looking at the 18x8s though, which are in the 22lb range.

Id prefer to reduce the weight of the wheels/tires. Stock is right around 41lbs, the tires Im want are 21lbs. So Id like to get something sub-19lbs. I do prefer 18s since I think they fill out the wheel wells better, but Im still on the fence.

I like these and I think they're the same measurements as the stock rims. 17x7 +48 offset and 5x100 bolt pattern, is that correct?

^ yep, same fit. Curious, Are you intentionally trying to keep the exact same setup?

Not necessarily, it just so happens that I'm particularly fond of Enkei, and these caught my eye because I like the color and they're a bit different than the RPF1's and others that people like a lot. And this particular wheel apparently only comes in 16's and 17's. RPF1 type 2 if you want to look into it.

Thing is, if you don't want to shell out for Volks, there are lots of high quality light weight rims at a fraction of the cost.

Enkei PF01 and RPF1 are around 15-17lbs and around $300.
OZ Allerrarita are RPF1 class in weight and are under $400 and the Ultraleggera is sub 18lbs.
Kosei K1 and K4R are under 15lbs in 17" and are around $200

There are good options out there that will give you nearly forged weight and performance that won't break the bank.

@mottor

If you're planning on lowering at all and you care in the slightest about appearances, do yourself a favor and get something a little more aggressive in Size. The stock Rims tuck like crazy when this car is lowered. I personally don't like that look. I'm not part of the Wrong Fitment Crew or anything but i do like a proper flush look.

If you're just tracking the car and want stock size wheels that are lighter then disregard this..more power to ya.
